Yevgeny Marchenko is 6'4" tall. Look up the article "Balance of Power" in the Christian Science Monitor from 2 June 2004. They state his exact height to compare it to Carly's at the time. I can't link to the article here (YT won't allow it)
haha so good , funny as well - Valeri's comments were gold . Its funny how they commented that Anna wouldn't answer her phone :) It was great to see them all laughing.
its pretty cool that Nastia could tell she could go out of bounds on her third pass if she had put her heel down considering she was backwards to the line and all. papa liukin's too cute.
I wish they would do a GK/Woga Insider every week. I think Nastia is the greatest ever. It's great to see the 2 golden girls with there legendary coaches. My mom died from cancer last summer and one of the few distractions for me from that horrible episode was watching the girls of USA gymnastics and the build up toward and during the Olympics. I was so happy Nastia won. Valeri was playing chess while everyone else was playing checkers. And his planning paid off.
@kickingitgymstyle My mom died from cancer that summer too so I know exactly how you feel. I watched the Olympics while in a rehab center after a suicide attempt from the grief of losing my mom and I found tremendous inspiration in Nastia's grace and strength and reminded me that even though I am not a gymnast, I can use that same Olympic spirit to get through life. I hope you are doing okay now and am so sorry you lost your mom too.
@girlygirl4149 Thank you for your words. It gets easier with the passage of time. Sometimes the memory of that event is hard to deal with but time has made it alot better. I hope the distance that has past from that difficult time in your life has helped ease your pain. Going through that darkness makes you much tougher and arms you with the hard earned knowledge which can assist others suffering from the shock and grief of losing a parent. That's the only good thing about it
omg valeri is freakin adorable

xocase09 2 years ago
@xocase09 If she would've put her heel down, she would've gone out of bounds.

higgixbabi 2 years ago
Damn, the other dude, Evgeny. He looks HUGE!!! Is he really that tall or is it because he's next to all these people that are 5'3"?
rocketsfan05 2 years ago
i was thinking the same thing! lol
higgixbabi 2 years ago
Alright. Knowing most gymnasts are short, and seeing he looks a head taller then Carly. I'd say he's about my height at 5'8".
rocketsfan05 2 years ago
I think it's because Nastia and Carly and Valeri are just short :P

If only they had footage of Bela Karyoli's reaction, Carly would laugh so hard.
