  • yep but you look like youre 20, 21 :) Take care and have patience youre still very young :)))

  • how old r u? u look so young!

  • @Salamphoenix Im 24

  • Hi, thanks for your video. I also suffer from that skin condition. I have one question, what dosage were you prescribed when you noticed the dark spots going away? Thanks :)

  • @iheartbeatfreaks sorry so late but i was on 1000mg a day but the spots really started to do away when i lost some weight

  • oops i'm so sorry i meant to say irregular bowel movements!!!!!!!!!!!

  • my 6th day on metformin and the only side effect i seemed to be having is a regular bowel movement sine I've started taking metformin this problem occurred i don't know if anyone else have been having this problem?

  • I've been on it since 2006 and let me tell you I lost weight at first. But now I had an ectopic pregnancy. And it makes my heart race, and diarehha. I gained all the weight back and now I'm on another type of metformin. Time release pill. so be leary of it, I'm thinknig of getting off of it and trying insulin.

  • @Libradiaries: Have you tried the naturopathic approach? Insulin is very toxic. There some videos by a guy called tim morrow on the diference of allopathic and naturopathic on the tube.

  • haha acanthosis nigacans i googled it and this video came up =) first too... i have been on it for 5/6 weeks my skin has cleared, and i did lose 5/6 lbs now but afraid it will come back, best of luck, i will subscribe

  • im also starting metformin next week.. and a synthetic thyroid cause as of last week we found ive got hypothryoidism... how bad is the metformin? i heard it can make u very sick

  • @PrincessKatrinaMarie I only got sick from it when I ate fatty foods but after about 2 weeks or so i felt fine and i could eat whatever i wanted without feeling sick to my stomach

  • @PrincessKatrinaMarie my doctor made me get used to synthyoid first (like 5 months) then added in metformin, i am at 850 mg 2x per day rapid release... it will help you! give it time and watch what food make your sugars go up/down and what make you sick... DO not give up/PCOS wont give up, so fight it!... i did give up the first time after one month on Met due to diarrhea, and gain 50 lbs in 1 year, now back to the drawling board =)loss 6 lbs in 4 weeks too =)

  • @girlytubegirl: Synthyroid and metformin mix that is horrible.

  • @4chango i have lost about 20 lbs

  • @girlytubegirl: It is not about the weight loss, the drug will have negative effects on you later in life - gauranteed. I have been in the medical for many years and I see the final effects of these synthetic drugs on the human body. Give it time, you will see.

  • @4chango you are right, but it helps. So i have found the alternative of not taking it worst, i do not want DM at 24, and i can not be running around with a TSH level of 65 or a blood glucose level of 350 that would destroy every organ in my body. so negative side effects of not taking it is worst for me!!! I have a "medical" background as well.

  • @girlytubegirl: I understand that and you do carry the valid point of which created the avenue for most to seek this alternative to natural. What I am stressing is that there are more effective and safe natural methods for this and most medical condititons. The mere fact that these drugs stop the symptoms as you know in the field - creates the very disease that it is attempting to slow down.

  • @girlytubegirl: Also keep in mind that I am not saying that allopathic does not have itspurpose, for example if I receive a PT. in the ER with a gun shot wound, I am not going to give him herbs - in this case a surgical procedure would be in place. What I am aiming at from practicing allopathic, naturopathic and homeopathic is that one should first attempt the natural physiological way before jumping to the synthesized metallic. Although there are some due to lack of discipline natural is out.

  • @4chango right! pt's come first and whatever helps them is what we need to do. =)

  • @PrincessKatrinaMarie NO IT CANT DEPENDS ON HOW YOUR BODY RESPONSE TO IT!!! SINCE IS YOU FIRST TIME YOU DOCTOR MAY START YOU OFF WITH A SMALL DOSE LIKE ME SHE PRESCRIBE ME 500MGS X2 ADAY FOR A MONTH THEN I HAVE TO SEE HER AGAIN THE ONLY EFFECT IVE HAD WITH IT SINCE THE LAST THREE DAYS IS BEEN DIARRHEA BUT ONLY IN THE MORNING????? WHEN I TAKE THE PILL BUT THEY SAY IS NORMAL.... COUSE MY BODY HAS TO GET USED TO IT IF YOUR VERY CONSIRNED BOUT YOUR HEALTH YOU GOTTA FIGHT IT AND STOP BEING SCARED!!

  • i have it on my neck and under my arms and a circle on my chest..Ive had it since i was wow like, 8 or 9 and we never knew what it meant, im now 26 and just got diagnosed with pcos last week..so its nice to know now...

  • Hi girl xx Iv had pcos since i was 14 yrs old n got worse, i ended having unwanted hair , overweight , skin tags witch i still have i took metformin but didnt see no change, it put weight on me too , i come off them 2 weeks ago n started losing weight. iv looked at vidz on here and they say tht talking contraseptic pill danitte? sorts problems out i aint sure. thanks fr the vid , mwah xx kay

  • Hi Laci. I am on my 5th day of Metformin, and its giving me a lot of heartburn. How was it to you? What were your side effects? How long did you have the side effects? so many Qs here..thanks... :-)

  • I didnt have heartburn. i only had an upset stomach and it was really bad when i ate something to sweet or fattning. my side effects only lasted about 2 weeks. Just hang in there it will get better i promise. once u get over the side effects metformin really helps

  • Metaformin is very dangerous for your health.

  • @4chango So is the disease we have, though. The positive effects definitely outweigh the negative overall.

  • @Hyperbole37 No there are no positive effects to metafomin. This drug destroys the liver and kidneys, so how is the reduction of a hyperpigmentation more important than renal and hepatic failure. You are speaking from a non-medical consumer prespective, a consumer who rather have a fatty liver scar liver and be on dialysis; just as long as ththe skin is presentable. There are better ways to take care of Syndrome X (type one diabetes)or as it is wrongly known to a few as acanthosis.

  • @4chango Actually, that's where you are wrong about my reasonings. I'm not even referring to acanthosis directly. In regards to Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, we are not given many medication options. Metformin, which I'm not doubting your response by any means, is the one of the better options they can give us. It helps to take care of the insulin resistance, regulate menses and help with many of the other issues that occur with the syndrome. I should have clarified a bit. My apologies.

  • @Hyperbole37 Part 1: I am wrong about your reasoning? You are speaking about treating a hormonal problem with a drug that destroys the pancreas and liver? If that is your reasoning than you are just as insane as some allopathic. I am sorry to be so harsh, but as a naturopathic I am sick of foolish thinking. If people understood the cause of POS and other diseases, they would also know that allopathic is not the answer.

  • @Hyperbole37 part 2: Well as Dr. Afrika says, they are just not going to get it. I have been trying for years to help many people with the use of these types of communication, but obviously my medical knowledge is of no use to you all. I guess Ill stick to Dr. Sebis method of charging people for this information. Hyperbole37, please understand that this is not directed at you per se, but to all those that doubt the African holistic methods of treatments.

  • @4chango I understand the issue that you have with medications of this sort. I, myself, am not on this medication. I'm a raw foodist and have found value in living foods as a form of healing for my disease.

However, I think society has gotten past the point of acceptance of holistic approaches. Sadly, Metformin is what is taken because no other way is widely spoken about. And because people refuse to revert back to basic practices, it's hard to say if we will ever get back to that point.

  • @4chango why is metformin dangerous for myour health

  • @candygirl050792: The medication causes a life-threatening condition called lactic acidosis, which can cause chest pain, nausea, vomit, sweat, diarrhea, heart attack. This drug also depletes your Vitamin B-12 & B-9, causing anemia, neurological issues, nerve death, and gastric problems. Finally it will result in worsening the pancreas.

  • I think im getting Acanthosis Nigricans on the back of my neck. How did you get rid of it?

  • @piranhaleg from what i understand its caused by elevated blood sugar levels and being over weight. my doctor (an endocrinologist) put me on Metformin which is a diabetes medicine and it started to go away within about 2 or 3 weeks i was soooo happy

  • @piranhaleg: I have had a few clients with this conditions - the reccomedation that worked for all is as follow: Controlling your glucose levels, reducing carbs and process food, avoid diet drinks and food due to their damaging effects on the pancrea, improve cellular uptake, decrease belly fat , perform daily stretching exercises in order to improve glucose release, clean the liver and there are some natural things you can take. When I get a chance I will post them on the channel.
