This was prior to him sending his son, Jesus, to redeam us from the letter of the law and made himself mediator between us and God's law. Quotes like those aren't why I am an Atheist. I just don't think there is a god, there is no evidence to support his existance. If I did believe there was a god and didn't want to be a christian because of quotes like those, then I would of picked a different religion.
I just find it interesting, about how all the so called "athiest's", always use our Bible quotes to try to either disprove, or discredit Christian's or Christ himself....Why do you think that is?...If you don't believe in God, or his word, why do you use it to try to fortify your position on God then?...I will still pray for your salvation though, this only solidifies my resolve my friend...And...I'm enjoying our discussion as well....tc....Yuke
Well religion is usuallu just a topic of interest for atheists. I guess that's why we have such discussions on the bible, the Quaran, The Book of John etc etc. I like to study different religions. I don't look down on anybody for being a religious person. If it makes you happy then I'm happy for you. I do like some the the morals religion teaches.

Thank you. I do believe Jesus could of been a real person, but think about it. Times were different and a woman becoming pregnant before getting married was a good way to get yourself stoned to death. So maybe Mary claimed that she was still a virgin and her son was givin to her by god to save her life?

That's why her betrothed took her away...She was a virgin my friend and the Holy Spirit planted a part of God himself in her womb...He was definately real, even history bares that out. From the very conception, he was heading for the cross. But, he rose from the dead and is preparing a place for us...that's the faith part...Yuke
