get a set with tapered core ends, especially if its a 5 string.. the strings warwick make actually sound great and are affordable. If you don't wanna get the tapered core strings you might want to lower the height of the saddle right before the bridge for your thickest string.
hey jeff how are u dude?? listen i have a 5 stringer sr 405 series from ibanez, and its been 6 years i have him. And i wanna change my pickups for better sound, i like playing funk soul, jazz and rock....what kind of pickups would u suggest me??
Hello Jeff from Canada. Very nice composition, nice bass sound,I have a soft spot for maple fret boards slapped . They have have one of the nicest slap tones. That new six is very nice sounding bass.Bravo !
That keyboard is annoying and way too loud. Also for most of the video whenever the backing bass does a slap pulloff you seem to over accenuate the following phrase making it to seem loud.
Dont wanna be rude but thats bullshit mate. You can have a 500 $ bass which could sound quite decent and everyone (OK, almost everyone) would say "it's so cool and nice sounding" when you lie to them it's a 3000$ bass. We all know that dont we? Peace.
i wanna get a new bass, and currently i roll a 4 string, but i wanna go to a 5 or 6 string, and i duno if it matters if i go from the 4 to the 6, what should i get a 5 or 6 string, and keep in mind i havent played a 5 or 6 before..
i think the 6th string is overkill, so i only play 5 strings. but i mean, depends on what you're playing. i've never been in a situation where i've really wanted a high C string. and i do play jazz. so it depends on what you're gonna do. but, you shouldnt get a 5 or 6 string just for the extra string. plenty of fantastic bassists only play 4 strings. so dont get an extra string if its just gonna get in the way.
from what i hear six string is good for people who like to finger tap but if your into metal it might be good if your the solo type. personally i dont know but one of my teachers used to make custom basses for roscoe told me that.
It all depends on your preference man, not sure how many people actually need that extra high c they've got on 6's, I do just fine with my fiver, but like I said its all preference.

The squire precision basses are great, u wont need something else for quite some time, mate.
anything under 1500USD is pointless to buy if you have a precision bass.

Most of what I've seen is if you play a 6, you almost always have just as nice of a 4 string that you play as well.
But if you have a 5, you play nothing but a 5.
I've played a 6 for about two years now but I'm going to switch back to a 4 (MAYBE 5) for good.
It's all personal choice.
