the BEST way to find out if you have it, is to try going to windows update page, or try updating your anti virus. if you can't enter either, you have a fairly good chance of having it :(

Just make sure your firewall is up, get avg virus protector and update it, you'll be fine. This virus is very over-hyped, this can happen any time not just April first. Just do what you've been normally doing; don't open suspicious E-mails, or download anything from an unknown publisher. Stop worrying, it's just another normal day on the internet.

Your right I should say that I know I have a virus. (believe me I do) and it matches the symptoms of this Conficker but my virus program and none of the removal programs can detect it... Every five seconds or so I get another trojan that my virus protector blacks and inbetween each one blocked adds pop up on my screen and other symptoms... But like I said, nothing I have tried has either detected or destroyed the virus.

Trust me friend - I work in IT. If you (as EVERYONE should) run a decent anti-virus, and a decent firewall suite, YOU'LL be fine. I won't say which company, but I have ANALIZED many of these viruses for some HUGE corporations to assess their risk to the particular company's servers, and these things are USUALLY VERY POORLY coded, and pose little to no risk to ANY SECURITY SUITE. If you don't already have one - check with your ISP. They often provide decent protection free with your service.
