  • Hi Kimberly. Just recently bought a 1995 Alembic Epic V, and while waiting for it to arrive did a big search for any info on the web, and discovered your YouTube bass solos.

I enjoy them very much, and also find them inspirational.

A question please- What strings do you use on your Epic. There are so many to choose from, and I like your tone.

    Thank you, Bruce

  • It would help to understand the depth of your genius and the inspiration behind it to watch you loop the music and manipulate the drum tracks instead of catching you in the early mathematics after all is set in motion.

  • Excelent playing, wow I love it, when you going to upload new vids?

  • I play trombone, so the use of the effect blew my mind = )

  • Nice Playing .. you're amazing ! .. but .. isn't easier to play a left bass ?

  • WOW WOW WOW, I am incredibly impressed...you are amazing, Kimberly!!!

  • I played with Stan in Phx back in the day w/ Big Pete Pearson. I so wish I had gone to Austin with him. You are missed my friend.

  • Great stuff- nice use of MIDI as well.

  • Hi Brian, :)

Thank you very much, I'm glad you liked it, though to give credit where it's due it was inspired by my cousin Stan Hoffman. :)

    Best Regards,

    Kimberly :)

  • this was a great performance... and i loved the Latin flavor that this piece has!!!

    very nicely done!

  • Hey Gman, :)

Either I missed your comment earlier or YouTube 'disappeared' my response'.

Thank you very much, I really appreciate your comment and that you liked the tune. :)

    Best Regards,

    Kimberly :)

  • I've seen female bass players, lefties playing right hand stringing - even a few who pluck with their pinky. But never a combination of all three! That's pretty unique, I'll remember you from now on no matter what. Like Bill Clements.

And nice soloing too, I like the song.

  • Hiya! :)

Nice complimentary comment, thank you very much! :)

    Best Regards,

    Kimberly :)

  • wow you are very good, wish i could solo like that. What effect is that you use? The effect that creates the trombone sound?

    subscribed :)

  • Hi Ramon, :)

    Thank you! :)

I'm using a Roland GR-20 synthesizer for the trombone sound. Lot's of fun! :)

    Best Regards,

    Kimberly :)

  • Great tune! btw I can't seem to figure out your left hand fingering. you pluck with all 5 fingers? did you play classical guitar before btw ?

    Cheeeeeeeeers

  • Hello again! :)

    Thank you! :)

My left hand fingering is actually all done with my index and little fingers, as I lost half of my middle and ring fingers in a childhood accident. :)

I've always been a bassist. Of course I've 'messed around' with a guitar, but never liked the string spacing so I just never did anything serious with one. :)

Glad you like my music! :)

    Best Regards,

    Kimberly :)

  • wicked groove, i might be seeing things or just plain crazy, but are you playing a left handed bass strung upsidedown? cause it looks like your playing the bottom strings for your lows?

  • Hi Dave, :)

Nope, you're seeing things or just plain crazy. :) Well, at least as far as me playing left handed "upside down" with right hand stringing. ;)

Goes way back in time to when I was first learning to play. I didn't own my own instrument so had to borrow a friends. I don't think he would of appreciated me changing the strings around to, what would have been to him, upside down. :D

Glad you like my music! :)

    Best Regards,

    Kimberly :)

  • beautifull groove,nice play

    Bigyouth
