Life was at the time.. for UK folks ... redemption. Duke was the huge favorite all season long. That we took them to the very edge, the brink, speaks well of our sons. Was one hell of a game. It took Duke's best to beat us that night. Congratulations to all of them, including Christian.

Pelfry's great defense for the long pass to Laettner is classic! After Laettner catches it Pelfry just stands there looking up at the clock, waiting for a horn that isn't coming. I was in a Duke dorm watching this game with 50 or so people. You could have heard a pin drop when Kentucky hit that shot. We had all been there when Duke won the championship the previous season, and we wanted another shot! As it turns out, Laettner gave us that shot, literally. All I remember after seeing the shot go in on that tv is being on the bottom of 30 or so screaming people - and a lot of champagne after that. Good times.
Tubby Smith didn't want to comply with UK's request for a new coaching staff, so he quit. Kentucky has a very high standard; we have the most games won. UNC & Duke (especially Duke) act like they're better than everybody else; they're not! We have very loyal fans, more than any other college club in the world. Tubby won with Pitino's players, too. Tubby will do well at Minnesota, for it's not as "demanding" as Kentucky. Again, Kentucky has very high standards; they expect the very best!
I respect dook's achievements before they started getting the ref treatment but most of there fans and K are just destestable........not to mention UNC is so much better then dook haha

As you well know that doesn't matter , in my opinion Ohio State was the best team last year , we just played a great game. Now these smaller schools like VCU and Butler are making the Final Four. One of these years a team like that is going to come through and win the whole thing lol Hopefully not next year .

We might meet in the tournament again I agree that OSU was probably the most complete team last year but nothing is certain determination and heart are factors as well.

Yea they lost far and square.. No excuses but who is your team? We all know that the best team in the nation (UK) has what it takes.. Granted they didn't have the perfect season but im sure much better than your team.. It just kills everyone that Uk has 3 starting freshman that is just as good if not better than any team in NCAAB and can hang with the best juniors and seniors.. UK is without a doubt AWESOME and fun to watch. FACE IT, they have the speed and athleticism.

I know they didn't win either but it was never done before & won't be repeated. If you did know anything about college basketball you would know the best teams to play on the court were the back to back undefeated teams at UConn 08-09 season that set the 90 straight wins record with 30 wins over top 25 teams by an average of 25 points.

@BapticostalFreak Women's basketball isn't even worth including in the same discussion as men's. Not only is it torturously painful to watch, there isn't even half the quality top to bottom in college women's basketball.
All you have to do to realize that is just look at the 1st rd of the women's NCAA tournament. 90% of the women's 1st rd games are double digit blowouts. At least in men's college hoops you get some good 1st rd matchups after you get below the #3-4 seeds.

I was in a Duke dorm watching this game with 50 or so people. You could have heard a pin drop when Kentucky hit that shot. We had all been there when Duke won the championship the previous season, and we wanted another shot! As it turns out, Laettner gave us that shot, literally. All I remember after seeing the shot go in on that tv is being on the bottom of 30 or so screaming people - and a lot of champagne after that. Good times.

Tubby Smith didn't want to comply with UK's request for a new coaching staff, so he quit. Kentucky has a very high standard; we have the most games won. UNC & Duke (especially Duke) act like they're better than everybody else; they're not! We have very loyal fans, more than any other college club in the world. Tubby won with Pitino's players, too. Tubby will do well at Minnesota, for it's not as "demanding" as Kentucky. Again, Kentucky has very high standards; they expect the very best!

I think it was more like when NC State beat Houston in 1983. I predicted that one in January, nearly 2 months before the Conference Tournaments. Jimmy V simply out coached the best that year. HORRIBLE video!! You showed pass after pass of insignificant possessions, and you didn't give the entireties of the good plays--Mashburn's drive, Laettner's shot (NO crowd reaction is given), etc.. You also misspell words left and right and act like you couldn't care less about an education.
