Yea I remember this - it was on the main website, some mad trippy ad campaign before the single was released. There may have even been clues you had to follow to get the next part of the video. Can't remember much more about it. Sadly didn't work as planned as they bloody split up after this.
Can somebody tell me what this was? was it some sort of subliminal compaign for the Strength In Numbers album? Because this is very trippy but completely nonsensical to me.
Theres alot of facts that being involved in this. I've read a fair bit now on the north of uk. But still feel you brits know more then us. Maybe you can confirm my ideas.
ok so this is the boydism code. Right I've read some of the stuff on the forums. But how to play properly on those quickstart guides. Plus I think this is more emotional then a straight story. Its very abstract but seems to fit and make sense.
Yeh I checked out the threads. Full of intrigue. The story sounds really good. Not sure about the commentary of drugs and violent culture. If thats what your getting across Boydism? But I love the fact that its real.
Listen to the part where it says. ...Work has something to do with labour. That it attains its meaning is attained through the means of its production.
In music, Rothenberg propriety denotes an important concept in the general theory of scales which was introduced by David Rothenberg. The concept was independently discovered in a more restricted context by Gerald Balzano, who termed it coherence. The notion belongs to the class of concepts often, but misleadingly, termed diatonic set theory; in fact, as with most concepts of diatonic set theory, it applies far more widely than simply to the diatonic scale.
In communications systems, a communication channel may change with time. Such a change is much more significant in wireless communications systems, due to doppler effects.
In a simple model, a signal x(t-1) transmitted at time t-1 will be received as
Coherence in linguistics is what makes a text semantically meaningful. It is especially dealt with in text linguistics. Coherence is achieved through syntactical features such as the use of deictic, anaphoric and cataphoric elements or a logical tense structure, as well as presuppositions and implications connected to general world knowledge.
There is no single coherence theory of truth, but rather an assortment of perspectives that are commonly collected under this title. In general, coherence theory sees truth as coherence with some specified set of sentences, propositions or beliefs.
Coherence is the property of wave-like states that enables them to exhibit interference. It is also the parameter that quantifies the quality of the interference (also known as the degree of coherence). It was originally introduced in connection with Young's double-slit experiment in optics but is now used in any field that involves waves, such as acoustics, electrical engineering, neuroscience, and quantum physics.
Sarg TMT is a campaign for The Music. There collaborating with the artist Chris Boyd. These videos are introducing us to an alternate reality game based on their new album etc. You should check out the forums
Also the othe tube members have videos related to the Music. Most are commenting on these videos. Might be easier for you then searching cos the band are generic name that gets lost as a keyword.
Hmm this vid is some kinda puzzle? Its like a dream or nightmare, we seem to be taken behind the looking glass after the computer screen. Enduring creation and forehead, is this some symbol of pain, or maybe a way to relieve pain? many questions, anyone have the answers?
Sweet chatting to ya the other night. F*cking mint gig. Good to see you filming. Your not what i expected to be like tho. Still a mad head like. Whats next?
Well when I first saw this (the first video, that ended before the bandages were cast off) I took it as being literal, the number four, perhaps a significant date? I quickly eliminated those possibilities though and it's clear that it plays a more intricate part - if it means anything at all!
Generally speaking, there's a few pieces of imagery that I understand in this video, but the vast majority, I have no idea what they could mean.
"The idea that creativity is fueled by pain puts a new spin on the history of Western art. . . . Spivey writes that the history of Western art is the story of pain's progress or at least of changes in the depiction of pain."--Sarah Boxer, New York Times
Artists discussed include Antonin Artaud, George Brecht, William Burroughs, John Cage, Sergei Eisenstein, Fluxus, Allan Kaprow, Michael McClure, Yoko Ono, Jackson Pollock, Luigi Russolo, and Dziga Vertov.
Focusing on Europe in the first half of the century and the United States in the postwar years, Douglas Kahn explores aural activities in literature, music, visual arts, theater, and film. Placing aurality at the center of the history of the arts, he revisits key artistic questions, listening to the sounds that drown out the politics and poetics that generated them.
This interdisciplinary history and theory of sound in the arts reads the twentieth century by listening to it--to the emphatic and exceptional sounds of modernism and those on the cusp of postmodernism, recorded sound, noise, silence, the fluid sounds of immersion and dripping, and the meat voices of viruses, screams, and bestial cries.

Hello, love the energy of the nightmarish part. Its quite addictive and the parts where rob sings cant get no peace of mind despite how hard i try, its like the drawing along the veins which turns into the soundwaves. Its saying that music is in their blood. Then soundwaves turn into them cables.
boydism suggests that the lo-fi real footage that becomes a kind of nightmare is manufactured by itself, giving a new weight and significance to what has come before by casting it in retrospect into the notion of strength in numbers creating some peace of mind.
Ok so boyd has deep philosophical questions about our experience. Here I am sat at a computer at a similiar desk as the in the video, experiencing the video which is questioning our experience of it which turned out to be the video which was created in the video.
So the experience of what we see and hear turns out to be the video that your creating at the start. Its grounded in reality with a lo-fi aesthetic then we dive into the sound waves of the music which is like an imaginitive realm which is based in the computer. So the computer is a prosthetic and then it becomes the video narrative prosthetic too.
Ok. 00:00:04-6 Bottom left is the book Simulacra and Simulation. So in short this is a simulacrum, an infinitely cyclical self organized system, in which all components are interconnected by a network of cycles and feedback loops inside feedback loops. Boyd's video art expression of postmodern complexity theory?
Also at the end you see that card thing about lewis carrol so does that mean we go through the looking glass as the camera goes into the computer screen. Does any1 else think this?
So then in the pov shot you have those eye blinks as if we just experienced a mad dream but then we see its on a camera. So i reckon it goes back to beginning cos that camera is uploading the things we have seen to the start where we see the edit video capture device shot.
wHYare the hands bandaged? When they come off it kicks off into more music getting clearer out of the white noise radio chatter. Then its like the drawing on the arm turns into sound and electricity and that naked dude is all sparky with energy or static electricity. Then it goes glitchy where we become that naked chap cos its the pov where we are looking at our hands.
The bandaged hands might relate to boxing and violence. Check out particles videos and comments. Also I thought it might be something to do with not being able to express. Liberation perhaps.
Its definately important as the camera zooms in on the unbandaged hands and the bandages as they fall. Then the liquid gives him a pen so a means of expression.
Some1 puts the camera down, this is cos that guy talks to laney i think and says hes making music videos. As some other guy says ....... work attains its meaning through the means of its production we zoom into the soundwaves and look metaphorically at whats behind them. But this part is where it goes from obviously a hand held camera to the pov shots which are not reality but like a scary fictional part.
Ok I think ive spotted somethings. The part which is reality but is all green nightvisiony has a fast forward symbol on it like the reality camera viewer shot at the end. Then its a shot of video capture device online so the footage is being uploaded into an editing program. This links it to the end where the video is playing on the camera viewer. At the edit video capture device shot you can see the books which are on the desk in the background as its capturing.
So were viewing a guy who is making the video we are viewing &we go inside the soundwaves &sink into a nightmarish part where we have gone from viewing a handheld camera recording to it being our point of view then we swap back & to from our P.O.V to being a viewer again viewing the person whose P.O.V we just had :S. To waking up as if from a dream or nightmare cos of those blinking eye parts which is our P.O.V again to another twist of realizing it was on the camera.
This video looks stunning at parts. But what amazes me are the ideas, cos ya crammed in something like 50 mind f*cks. So we can't get peace of mind like the guy sings.
It looked it you left the camera recorded and someone picked up.Then its like your looking behind the sound waves, as if I've fallen into a realm. So you set up the hand held reality at the start. Then its from a point of view as if were fighting through that fluid and foggy bit. Then it sounds like it were inside the computer and its crashed or something then restarts like its tuning into stations or channels. The eye blinks are as if were waking up from a dream then you we see its on a camera.
i got high right after seeing this.
