  • The movie never really explains the whole ze germans origin in correlation with Tommy. I've always wondered that. I need answers

  • I love this movie and even as a German I would always prefer a good British movie over that uninspired and superficial crap from Hollywood.

  • I will miss the cocknet accent.

  • We all want a friend like Turkish.....

  • 'zee germans' remind me of russel crowe in a 'beautiful mind'

  • press 8

  • Haven't seen Snatch in a while, but as I understand it, Turkish makes fun of Tommy by associating his desire for "protection" with a fear of an enemy of the past. Basically, what "the King of England" is for the stereotype gun-bearing American.

Like Homer once said: "If I didn't have this gun the King of England could just come in here and start pushing you around."

The "zee" is just to emphasize the hilarity of the thought.

  • @Nathanyel It was a joke cause the guy playing Tommy had just finished filming Band of Brothers, hence the accent and Germans

  • @05moetown In that case then it was a double entendre, as Nathanyel was right, too.

  • @Nathanyel You thought way too much into that!!!

  • i knew i reconiged al capone from somewhere.

  • Tommy (Stephen Graham) played a minor role in Band of Brothers, which were nearly finished filming by the release of Snatch. The script-writers adressed this joke to his role in the series, a US sergeant.

  • "Zee Germans" is said sarcastically on purpose the way a real german native would say with a germany accent talking in english "The Germans"

  • Jason Statham most underrated actor ever!

  • I don't get why does he says "ZEE" Germans?

  • @OBJASHNJIVACH when germans say the it sounds like zee. hes basically taking the piss :P

  • Comment removed

  • @OBJASHNJIVACH Some Germans pronounce "the" as "zee", that' s the point.

  • 0:30!!!

  • Anyone else noticed how the drink in his right hand suddenly changes to his left? ;)

  • @oscarthemole Hahah, sharp eye mate! @24 sec!

  • @oscarthemole Sharp eye indeed,mate.

  • @oscarthemole Except its the other way round..it was in his left hand originally. :P

  • @arcady108 haha true! my mistake ;)

  • @oscarthemole Wooowww man a very big raccord mistake!! xDD

  • Comment removed

  • @oscarthemole no, but i have noticed at 0:24 the drink in Turkish LEFT hand changes to his RIGHT hand :)

  • @oscarthemole He has a drinking problem!!!!!!! :D

  • I could never understand 'Zee Germans' quote.. Anybody can help?

  • @ahmedalian what do you mean, like content-wise? I think it refers to WW2, when 'ze germans' were the enemy of both GB and france (hence the ze).

  • 2 people are "ze Germans"

  • I love how guns are portrayed in Guy Ritchie movies. Its like the characters are always kind of fascinated by them or dont have a good understanding of how they work. Like when that one guy is shocked by the size of his friends 12 gauge or the Bren gun scene in Lock stock. I dont know what it is but guns are just different in a Ritchie film compared say to a Tarantino film. Maybe its just the different culture.

  • Well, the english view on guns is that they should be saved for war, meaning that they stay out of the hands of everybody but people who own land or Gangsters. To them, that spas might as well be an antiaircraft gun :D

  • @peepeevagi You have no idea of what you are talking, mate.Only the nitro handguns are banned.NOt the blackpowder ones. Then, you can buy all shotguns and rifles you want provided you have a safe place to store and a place to shoot. From puntguns,2 bore,4 bore and 8 bore shotguns to .50BMG rifles, all can be had on regular licenses.Hunting is available year round and no bag limits.Like I said, you have no idea.

  • @mdirtydogg you obviously did not sense the sarcasm in my comment D:

  • @peepeevagi Sorry mate,if i understood you wrongly. It gets my goat to read some chaps talking about UK's culture or politics without first hand knowledge.

  • @IronManOfficialguy

yep ! most us english will never hold a proper gun, the only time we see them is at Buck house or at airports where the police have em.

We can't just pop to the supermarket and buy one like the American's..

  • @IronManOfficialguy Show guns to people who never held one or have little idea about them ,irrespective of their domicile, you get similar reactions. Not just the characters in Guy Ritchie's films. Culture or no culture.

  • man i love this jason stathum is a brilent actor! Zeee gremans lol

  • zee germans?

  • Like St. Trinian's we need Hogwarts for pikies.

  • ''it was 2 min 5 min ago''

  • HARRY!

    WHOT!?

    Its an inanimate facking object.

    YOUR AN INANIMATE, FACKING OBJECT!

  • @MrDeandeluca When I herd that in the movie I couldn't stop laughing for days.

  • "You're a sensetive boy ain't you Tommy? Fuck me, hold tight"

  • he says "ze germans" three times in the whole movie..

  • Comment removed

  • F*ck me. hold thight

  • he says nothin at 0.18... but he says at 0.13 your a sensitive boy aren't your Tommy. then.. f**k me hold tight

  • poor sofokles96

  • Zee Germans...

  • This film was such a step up from lock stock and two smoking barrels, even though it followed basicly the same flow of the storyline

  • fuk me "ell (hell) tom:

  • Turkish says ''You're a sensitive boy arent you Tommy'' just before 0:18 if thats what you mean

  • I loathe the Germans.

  • @Verfassungsschutzer

Where does your hatred come from? :-/

I think nearly no one would be angry. To the contrary, i think the reaction would be more american and the person maybe would be proud because of an interesting cultural background. ;-)

For myself: my family name is often be mistaken as dutch, or scandinavic and i find it quite funny or am rather pleased than annoyed, because it shows it's something different.

    Back to topic:

In german he says "wicked/bad man" instead of "ze germans"

  • fyi, it's "hold tight" not "hold on"

  • "protection from what? Zee germans?" ROFL.

  • Go to google, type in Snatch Script, and voila...

  • He says "fuck me, hold tight"

  • Love from :27

  • He says F**k me, hold on

  • who ze germans hurry b4 ze germans get here the boris grabs his balls and carrys him pmsl

  • stephen graham is a class actor its hard to beleive its the same bloke who plays the racist pysco combo in the film this is england

  • @rapidcombo jason statham you idiot

  • @FLDOTexe18 im talking about the bloke who plays tommy, how stupid do you feel?

  • I am in for the sauerkraut with bratwurst if the invitation is open and I like laughing too.

  • @Djeepert youre a sensitive boy arent u tommy

  • @Djeepert "Hold tight"

  • @Djeepert

    "Fuck me, hold tight..." :P

  • @Djeepert

I believe he is saying: "Fuck me, hold on!"

  • @Djeepert

He says: "Fuck me, hold tight"

  • @Djeepert Fuck me! Hold tight...

  • Comment removed

  • fuck me hold tight

  • He says "Fuck me hold on" but its a proper cockney hold on, like when he says "bollocks I'm going for a walk" later. sounds more like "wolk". Hold on "howlt on".

At least I think so, lol

  • A proper cockney?

    BTW thx for the answers

  • @kai101m5 actually he says "Hold tight" :P

  • @kai101m5 that seems to be exactly what he is saying..."hold tight" is a bit too far, "hold on" - could be, but that dry "T"...yeah, more like "howlt on". I thought i said "old Tom" or smth before i saw your comment

  • @sofokles96 he says "fuck me ... ill tell"

  • @mpawlak10 yes, at least this one i can believe, thx

  • @sofokles96

I think he might be saying 'F**k me. Hold tight.'

Except with his accent it sounds like: ' 'ol tigh' '

  • @sofokles96 he says "fuck me hell tom" i think

  • @sofokles96 he says fuck me utter

  • @sofokles96 he must be saying "f-ck me, hold tight" =D

  • @sofokles96 he says, 'Fuck me, hold tight'

  • @sofokles96 he says: your a sensitive boy ain't you tommy?

  • @sofokles96 he says "fuck me, hold on"

  • @sofokles96

    "I fucking hate Pikeys"

    "You're a sensitive boy, ain't ya Tommy"

  • @sofokles96 Accordig to imdb, it's "Fuck me, hold thight. What's that?..."

  • @sofokles96 He says F* me, hold tight.

  • @sofokles96 fuck me. hold tight.

  • Comment removed

  • @sofokles96 he says fuck me, hold tight.

  • @sofokles96 He says "Fuck me, hold tight. What's that?". 'Hold tight' is just a London way of saying "Wait a second" or "Stay there".

  • @sofokles96

    "You're a sensitive you, ain't you, Tommy?"

  • @sofokles96 @Djeepert "Fuck me, hold tight"

  • @sofokles96

he says: "Fuck me, hold thight."

  • @sofokles96 he said fuck me hold on

  • @sofokles96 "Fuck me, hold tight"

  • @sofokles96 "Fuck me, whats that?"

  • @sofokles96 "Hold tight"

  • @sofokles96 he says "fuck me, hold tight"

  • @ilikeyoutubing isnt it "hold on"?

  • @Ca3gbpMaTop no, it is "hold tight" but it basically means the exact same thing, it's just slang

  • @sofokles96 it's very possible that he said "Fuck me, hold tight"

  • @sofokles96 F me hold tight

  • @sofokles96 Turkish is saying "Hold tight" it basically means "Wait a second"

*Is british* I love snatch, such a great film, watched it for the first time today, so good... ZE GERMANS.

  • @sofokles96 Fuck Me! Hold Tight! i think.

  • @sofokles96 Fuck Me! Hold Tight! i think.

  • Comment removed

  • @sofokles96 "fuck me, hold tight"

  • @sofokles96 Nobody commenting here knows what they're talking about. TURKISH says, "F*** me, hold on...", in a cockney accent obviously, so the 'h' disappears and becomes " 'old on"

  • @sofokles96 fuck me...hold up! whats that?

  • @sofokles96 Fuck me, hold tight.

  • @sofokles96 I think he said "Fuck me, hold tight"

  • @sofokles96 Fu*k me hold on..

  • @sofokles96 "Fuck me, Hold tight"

  • @mullen1995 i've always thought it's "fuck my eltern", lol

  • he says "fuck me, hold tight"

  • they shouldn't fcking translate at all, faggots...........

  • @ JohnnyDiggs

Seems like ZE GERMANS can't take a joke.

  • @xdegenerate18

believe me my friend although our nation is maybe hated throughout the world for the dark chapter of our history and the mistakes our ancestors made, we never lost our sense of humor imo it even got stronger over the last decades. if you read my comment accurately you should see, I am the best example for that otherwise I would not have posted it. i hope some time you'll have the chance to visit us to have a good laugh with me while we eat our sauerkraut with bratwurst :D:D

  • what does ze germans says about ZE germans?

  • I love this movie and I am one of "ze germans" ;D

i have to admit in the german version turkish says:

"afraid of what? the bogeyman?" which of course is a terrible translation and I pity those foolish translators...

greetz to all guy ritchie fans from ze germans :D

  • haha the bogeyman, doubt that was a bad translation haha

  • @JonnyDiggs

Lol yeah I remember when I was staying with family in Germany as a lad watching German TV how bad the translations were. I'd be watching Simpsons episodes I'd know off by heart in English and I was amazed at how much they'd butcher the jokes. They even changed Homers catchphrase from "D'Oh!" to "Nein!",even though he makes a clear oh movement with his mouth lol.

  • @gunninlinguist

true, it 's ridiculous. i use to watch them in english too because it's way

more fun. the german version is also synchronized by fare more voice

actors than the english one. the few original actors are much more

talented and funny especially dan castellaneta who does unbelievably

    many characters!!!

  • hahhahaha lold

  • LOL!! glad the British still joke about ZE GERMANS.

  • It was two minutes five germans ago!

  • Whoever came up with the "ze germans" is a genius ...lol

  • Its another simple, but great british film

  • lol, greatest line in the movie

    ze germans?

  • "It was two minutes five minutes ago" rofl

  • whoever came up with the "zee germans" idea is brilliant.

  • protection from what ze germans

  • Brits and guns. Always a hilarious combination.

  • hahaha, love it. Thanx for uploading.

  • The Germans refered to the English as Tommy's in WWII and he is just playing on that fact

  • You're a sensitive boy, aren't you, Tommy?

  • zee germans as synonym for bad guys ???

  • no its not he was just taking the piss out of tommy

  • Turkish: Fuck me, hold tight. What's that?

    Tommy: It's me belt, Turkish.

Turkish: No, Tommy. There's a gun in your trousers. What's a gun doing in your trousers?

    Tommy: It's for protection.

Turkish: Protection from what? "Zee Germans"?...xD

    I love this movie...

  • Notice when he says " I hate pikies allright" the first time you hear his scouse accent lol.

  • I noticed that... He has a cockney accent, or is supposed to, in this movie.

Then again, he is from Liverpool so it might've just been a natural mistake from him.

  • I'm pretty sure Statham is from London.

  • Yeah but Stephen Graham isn't. And we're talking about him, not Jason Statham.

  • this is great but i don't really get why he keeps talking about "zee germans" throughout the movie.

  • ive seen it, and also seen mean machine

    i love these movies
