Haven't seen Snatch in a while, but as I understand it, Turkish makes fun of Tommy by associating his desire for "protection" with a fear of an enemy of the past. Basically, what "the King of England" is for the stereotype gun-bearing American.
Like Homer once said: "If I didn't have this gun the King of England could just come in here and start pushing you around."
The "zee" is just to emphasize the hilarity of the thought.
Tommy (Stephen Graham) played a minor role in Band of Brothers, which were nearly finished filming by the release of Snatch. The script-writers adressed this joke to his role in the series, a US sergeant.
I love how guns are portrayed in Guy Ritchie movies. Its like the characters are always kind of fascinated by them or dont have a good understanding of how they work. Like when that one guy is shocked by the size of his friends 12 gauge or the Bren gun scene in Lock stock. I dont know what it is but guns are just different in a Ritchie film compared say to a Tarantino film. Maybe its just the different culture.
Well, the english view on guns is that they should be saved for war, meaning that they stay out of the hands of everybody but people who own land or Gangsters. To them, that spas might as well be an antiaircraft gun :D
@peepeevagi You have no idea of what you are talking, mate.Only the nitro handguns are banned.NOt the blackpowder ones. Then, you can buy all shotguns and rifles you want provided you have a safe place to store and a place to shoot. From puntguns,2 bore,4 bore and 8 bore shotguns to .50BMG rifles, all can be had on regular licenses.Hunting is available year round and no bag limits.Like I said, you have no idea.
@peepeevagi Sorry mate,if i understood you wrongly. It gets my goat to read some chaps talking about UK's culture or politics without first hand knowledge.

Germans learned well to hide their Nazism. If you want a proof that Germans are still Nazis then just tell them they look 1/8 Polish or British or Slawic or Greek. Just 1/8 th.And then watch their reaction. They are still crazy to be a pure blooded superior Race. The worst thing is that they see 1/8 th other European Blood as a Danger for their Race. They would fight it down much more if these Persons are Intelligent civilized persons.Disgusting Nazis still hide their intention.
I think nearly no one would be angry. To the contrary, i think the reaction would be more american and the person maybe would be proud because of an interesting cultural background. ;-)
For myself: my family name is often be mistaken as dutch, or scandinavic and i find it quite funny or am rather pleased than annoyed, because it shows it's something different.
Back to topic:
In german he says "wicked/bad man" instead of "ze germans"
He says "Fuck me hold on" but its a proper cockney hold on, like when he says "bollocks I'm going for a walk" later. sounds more like "wolk". Hold on "howlt on".
@kai101m5 that seems to be exactly what he is saying..."hold tight" is a bit too far, "hold on" - could be, but that dry "T"...yeah, more like "howlt on". I thought i said "old Tom" or smth before i saw your comment
@sofokles96 Nobody commenting here knows what they're talking about. TURKISH says, "F*** me, hold on...", in a cockney accent obviously, so the 'h' disappears and becomes " 'old on"
believe me my friend although our nation is maybe hated throughout the world for the dark chapter of our history and the mistakes our ancestors made, we never lost our sense of humor imo it even got stronger over the last decades. if you read my comment accurately you should see, I am the best example for that otherwise I would not have posted it. i hope some time you'll have the chance to visit us to have a good laugh with me while we eat our sauerkraut with bratwurst :D:D
Lol yeah I remember when I was staying with family in Germany as a lad watching German TV how bad the translations were. I'd be watching Simpsons episodes I'd know off by heart in English and I was amazed at how much they'd butcher the jokes. They even changed Homers catchphrase from "D'Oh!" to "Nein!",even though he makes a clear oh movement with his mouth lol.
The movie never really explains the whole ze germans origin in correlation with Tommy. I've always wondered that. I need answers
