Sadly it's the quick and convenience solution to lazy people who don't want to put the efoort into working with the dog to reduce the unwanted behaviour. I wonder if these people know of the long term consequences of the surgey, or if they even care?
If you can't handle a dog barking, get another pet.

In a way its pretty much like a human going for a voice removal u have no vocal cords at all!!!Can't talk can't sing nor whistle so people watching this video & reading the comments as I know most people as I am 1 of them think about the next time u consider doing something like this to ur pet or as I prefer to call these beautiful amazing animals our children....
What in the world is so damn radical about the procedure. It is a perfectly legitimate surgery. However, I do agree that it should be only a last ditch resort for incorrigible cases.
Thank you for your response - I get upset every time I meet somebody who did that to their dog doesn't matter what their reasoning is ... dogs bark ... that is what they are born to do .... if they can not deal with it they shouldn't have a dog, right?
Completely agreed. I wish more people understood that dogs are living things, and not accessories. Owning a dog is a lot of work and responsibility, and if you can only deal with a dog's barking by removing its voice, then maybe you should reevaluate having a dog at all.
