Um...I'm 45. Funny..when my father worked for the phone company, he had a pention, FULL medical, paid vacation, sick days, a sallary that was enough to pay a mortgage and support a wife and kids and even job security. I'm not against making a profit from labor, but to take away basic benifits so that a CEO can make another million in his bonus goes too far. Most of the time it's not about "remaining in business". It is pure greed.

@shalcall - "The health care bill is at least paid for" ... only if you count the next 10 years as a whole... they start the taxing next year .. and the "benefits" four years from now... so that it *seems* paid for. There are other tricks that are coming out now. Stay tuned.

Benefits start immediately. Put down the fucking Fox News talking points and read the fucking bill. You can find it online (youtube won't allow me to include a website in comments).
When Fox News talks about "benefits" they're talking about subsidies for the poor that don't start for four years. They're not talking about eliminating denials for pre-existing conditions which starts immediately. They're not talking about eliminating lifetime caps on payouts, which starts immediately.

Yeah, all dems march in lockstep. That's why the progressive movement is actually against this bill. That's why Joe Lieberman, Ben Nelson, among others were holding this bill up and changed it SUBSTANTIALLY.
There is no public option in the bill, there is no expansion of medicare in the bill, there is restrictions on abortion in the bill. That's not a progressive bill, but here we are.
The only people I see marching in lockstep are the Repubs who are refusing to earn their paychecks.
