  • Hello Dedepick

You play fantastic and a good sound congratulation

    Greets from Belgium Johnny

  • @123RIOBRAVO I Bet you were 1 of the 15 who disliked it too

  • Nice job! But I hate to be the bearer of bad tidings. I used to play it like this but Bill Kirchen (Hot Rod Lincoln etc., who learnt it from Don Rich) showed me the correct way. In the opening lick, and subsequent shapes, you don't play the top E as an open string, you play it at the 5th position on the B string and HOLD IT DOWN thru all the subsequent notes you play above it. This then gives you two notes ringing through the phrase. Check out Don Rich's left hand on the YouTube video.

  • damn!! that's good. I wish I could learn this instrumental just like that. That is so cool!!

  • Can somebody Please Post the Original?

  • This is the best version of this tune I have ever heard - including the original. It's a very simple tune but believe me, it needs a good player to pull it off. This is great!

  • I was joking. ;) wink wink get it? That was a compliment.

  • Great picking dede. I was in Vietnam in 66 and Armed Forces Radio would do their country music hour about 5 pm or so with this song as the lead in by Don Rich (I guess it was Don). I always think of Vietnam when I hear it. Very good job.

  • but then again you have the flying burrito brothers.... they also did this song

  • Don Rich would be proud of you Dedepick. You did a magnificent job on Buckaroo!!

  • quit being a fag yourself you propably cant even play smoke on the water ..let alone guitar.. so why are getting at this guy?

  • Don't be too hard on jamesdionne13. The 13 probably designates his age or his IQ - or both. He doesn't realize what a great guitar player dedepick is.

  • lmao xD

  • Effin' awesome! Either that Tele is ancient or it's a good Custom Shop replica.

  • michael this what you call country music

  • I know what it is. My band plays a lot of country from that era. I was just referring to the guitarists Fender Telecaster guitar. The older ones are somewhat sought after. Mine was made in '53. Maple-board Teles and Fender Twin Reverb amps define the whole Bakersfield guitar sound. You must be misunderstanding me. It didn't help that I hit "post" twice by accident. Awesome picking. Don Rich would have been proud!

  • Effin' awesome! Either that Tele is ancient or it's a good Custom Shop replica.

  • AWESOME, this is the first time I have ever heard this done justice, when Buck Owens wasn't doing it! Congratulations!

  • This is indeed a very nice version. But if you've only heard Buck's recorded version, you should also check out the late great Clarence White's version on the Tuff 'n' Stringy compilation. He stays very faithful to the original, but his solo is jaw-dropping.

  • I will definitely check out his version and let you know what I think, thanks for the info.

  • Good job. What Fender Telecaster model is that btw?

  • télécaster special edition with maple birds eyes

  • What a great version, I remember this song when I was growing up. It was the era of instrumentals. It was, is, and always will be a classic!

    Bakersfield forever!

    mac

  • Yeah!!!! Great Job, you did Buck and Don proud

  • You got that right! Bakersfield lives forever!

    Right on Buck and Don!

    mac

  • if you ever saw Buck Owens & Don Rich Playing this at the same time live ...wow it was incredible !!!
