@alan26930 ok now, lets talk about association. Yes, I know this was originally a russian folk song. HOWEVER, which is more popular, the folk song, or the video game? This melody is now the theme from tetris, it is no longer a russian folk song. The overwhelming popularity of Tetis has made this happen. The same can be said for Duct Tape or Kleenex, while at one time these names represented individual products, they now represent the category as a whole.

The whole song WAS on at one time & I enjoyed it a lot (it is the basis of the prime Tetris tune, btw). Somehow, "they've" (can we guess who?) cut it off at EXACTLY 5 minutes. Oddly enough, the non-live (i.e. album cover version) played with a full orchestra is timed at 4:53 and DOES get to the climactic finish. Perhaps this video could be re-posted??

But this way of life has declinated under the Soviet regime and especially during the WWII, when Hitler decimated the Tsiganis. You'll find same inspiration in the Klezmer music.

The interpretation of the violins lacked speed and power in the arched top? What does that mean? Interpretation has to do with the dynamics and how you phrase a piece, Secondly, I would assume it is very difficult to accelerando in a concert hall of people clapping the wrong beat. Saying you play well means nothing, it just makes your first statement more stupid. :)
