I mean, while the model shows Fort Myers escaping any flooding, my favorite party place in the world is Key West, and the model shows some of the wave hitting Key West.
@dawala1000 - But, we're heading up to Daytona Beach for our timeshare right on the ocean Saturday!! Gonna take my laptop to monitor the situation. We'll jump in the car and head many miles northwest, and get high into a tall strong building just in case. However, the USGS says they will not issue tsunami warnings (they're not even showing the quakes there) because everyone would panic.see globalrumblings.blogspot.com/2011/10/breakingusgs-says-no-warning-will-be.html

@corrado47 40 to 50 miles at most. It's all about friction, it doesn't matter too much about elevation. Drive your car at about 100 mph, take your foot off the acceleration and let it roll. Watch as it slows down. Now the wave would be traveling at about 600 mph. That should help
I was live near Kissimmee. Plus The whole state isn't be flooded.

Bahamas and Caribbean look to be the real casualties in that simulation. But because they don't have 3 NFL teams nobody cares. Frowny face.

The Bahamas and outer Islands would protect Florida from about West Palm Beach south. I live in extreme South Florida and I'm not moving.

@GlobalRumblings i think so too . i live in broward county and your right about the bahamas and outer islands taking most of the impact .
dawala1000 5 months ago
@GlobalRumblings But what about Key West? Wouldn't Key West get flooded?

South Florida is screwed. The heart of central Florida would be safe I think.

@ftolmsteen Central Florida will be safe.

What I'd love to know, is how far inland will the tsunami go. Will it cover the whole state? What about the rest of the East coast?
arepasheat 1 year ago
@arepasheat I would have to say probably 20-30 miles inland.
