I have a large amount of experience with PCs so I use the free. I would recommend if you have little PC experience, do it, go pro.
We use PC for shopping and goofing off in the internet. Too much stuff is out there to NOT be protective on your PC, this way or not.

I really have enjoyed moving to Comodo.
They have super product and free.
You have to give them props for what they give for free and they add support for PRO versions.
A+ guys.
