I remember I was about 11 and I told my parents/grandparents that I wanted the new Mario game for Gameboy for my birthday. I was SO disappointed when I opened up the wrapping to discover they'd got DR MARIO instead. I had to put up with that crappy game for a whole year before I got Super Mario Land.

I still remember opening this up at Christmas time. MAN I miss this game! I played this for hours on end. The soundtrack is awesome! Whoever made the music deserved some kind of award because it still sounds great, 20 years later. Childhood memories are priceless. I sure miss those days.

You can tell which version you have by doing a small thing. In version 1.0, when you hit the bonus, as long as you're AT the bonus line, you can hit it as high as you want, resulting in clearing the level off screen. version 1.1 however, causes you to HAVE to fall in the middle of the bonus door, thus keeping Mario on screen.
