Most people in civil law countries are indeed afraid of lawyers. Most Civil Law Jurists have seen the Law as a necessary repressive device (Justice is blindfolded, holds a balance and A SWORD). The idea of law as a product social contract is relatively recent (Enlightenment). Most law systems have been conceived as granted by a higher authority that has the power to crush you.
Very true ayabaya. I wonder what you think of the Freeman on the Land phenomenon. They seem to be the only ones, in the UK/US/Canada/Australia trying to uphold the relative simplicity of English common law (do what you like so long as it doesn't hurt anyone) against statutes and taxes that progressively disempower and exploit the people. How is law in the Chavez era? Best wishes to your brave and much ravaged country by the way.
There seems to be a problem with the sound.
