Reading all of this years later it's humorous for me to see all the BB people saying iPhone would never win, let alone not being able to factor in the absolute market share eater that is Android. I wonder if all these BB users still feel the same way...

BB is for old farts and the iphone is for the younger newer generation. I had a BB it was fucking annoying i push down on 1 button and hit 2 others, the iphone touch screen when you go over one letter it pops up and the auto speller does great.

It was a big band wagon thing where everyone wanted it, i switched back to blackberry, much happier and to the people that takl about a real keyboard. think about you computer, its a real keyboard. I type much faster on my iphone than I did on my previous CELLPHONE , which is GREAT. I never got a smart phone because they looked ugly and huge, and were not ez to use. I got the iphone as soon as it came out. I HATED apple products before this. It's a joke to discount their innovation. R-tard

i have my next phone narrowed down to the iphone 3g or the blackberry bold. it seems like blackberry is great for business users and e-mail, but the iphone seems more fun to mess around with, and it has an amazing web browser than no one has beaten yet.

Ironically people in 80s debated on GUI and TEXT terminal interface same way as know BB and iphone fans debate touch screen and hardware key board. That debate was over in 90s and you know who won!!!

To me BB hardware keyboard is limiting. Inorder to have a GUI interface you need a pointing device (Steve Jobs rightly put it), for phone form factor apple invented excellent multi-touch interface. Couple of years from now this debate will be over and you know who will win that!!!

i have a BB curve and i love it! I have a MacBook Pro as well and it's already got multi-touch trackpad, that's why I got a crackberry.

my friend has the iPhone and has had many problems...to name a few:

-he had to buy another one because the top rubber button got stuck and wasn't covered under the warranty

-the phone freezes

-the battery life decreases significantly in a few months

-he doesn't get some incoming calls

plus, the browser is slow, the phone is big and heavy, and the keyboard is way too hard to type on. not to mention the color is not very sleek.

i can't wait for my blackberry curve to arrive in the mail =)

The virtual keyboard on my Ipod Touch is easy to use. I don't like the keyboard of my Treo. I hope the battery life of Ipod/Iphone could be better.

I prefer the iPhone. It is much better looking, you can download extra software, you can also manage e-mail and you don't have to pay extra for the BB service. iPhone is great!

The iPhone will not have the BES Software server capabilities or have the capabilities to sync with your outlook the same. Also Blackberry allows third party software to function from the device and also you could run a server from your Blackberry on the other side of the planet! Pretty cool! Iphone is cool but a commerical/consumer product. The Blackberry is a business/enterprise solution.
