  • im only 14 years old but i plan to live off the grid when i grow up this video was very inspiring thank you sir

  • @htkendall

    I wish you well.

  • i love it. it is just great fresh air and all the wild life im moving out of the city next year for a hope of a better life for me and my new family my wife i hope we can do half as well as you and we will be doing fine.

  • Thanks for the videos. Living in the city as I do I sometimes pine for the woods. Your videos allow me to live vicariously for a bit. I miss the simplicity of just living to survive with nature.

  • I love this and I'm a wilderness fanatic!

When I lived south of you (BC Canada),I seldom found enough company for my wilderness trips and sometimes went alone.Tent, gun, and supplies."Those were the days my friend".

I'd like to find a fit and strong woman, maybe a squaw...hehe...and move out there too.

  • just out of curiosity how do you guys afford the lifestyle out there.

  • Beautiful location!!! I was just wonderin, what's the name of the song u play around 2:06 or so? I play piano, and would love it if I could find some sheet music. Very interesting song. Thx in advance!!

  • Absolutely fantastic location. Amazed you managed to build a house in such a remote place. Anyway, it looks like you have a great lifestyle away from the urban rush ... and I think it's very brave of both of you to live where you do. Out of interest, what do you do for power and water and who services all your mechanical equipment if it breaks down?

  • Thank you for your nice comment. As far as utilities go... Its kind of a learning curve.

I am still learning after 10 years, My system is evolving and growing with time and money.

I am saving for solar panels to go with my battery bank, and wind generators.

I also use a little Honda 2000 watt generator, and a bigger 7500 watt generator on laundry day. The nice thing about being on a generator, is that I am hyper aware of my power needs, and if I don't need it. It is off.

  • We really like your video. Do you have plans to move in the future, or are you planning to stay?

  • I am happy to say that I love this place, and will stay the rest of my life here.

  • I really wish that we could leave Miami, but my kids live here and so do my 70 plus parents. I couldn't sell my home now even if I tried and my husband has a steady government job. If he's laid off we are all in a heap of trouble!

BUt I will say that I do envy you, perhaps we will manage a way to buy land in a rural area one day. For now we just are working sometimes double shifts to pay of the mortgage on this place and the last of credit card debt.

  • Thank you for the video , very nice

  • I just wanted to say hello, and tell you that I Love the vids, I do hope you'll make more. You know, your blessed to be somewhere you love so much ! I'm happy for ya ! :)

  • WoW, very nice Video, I'm in the planning now to set up this kind of life style deep in the mountains of japan.

Do you grow all your own food? what are the types of foods you grow and which ones do you store for the winter? Also how do you get the internet where you are?

  • I get my internet by satellite, and soon it will be upgraded to microwave.

We eat chickens and eggs that my wife raises, and we eat allot of fish, clams, and moose. I barter for 4-h raised meat, and we grow a garden. herbs, spinach, cabbage, carrots, potatoes.

We are doing good with tatsoi lettuce and bok choi also. We dry a bunch of herbs on a rack above the wood stove for cooking and a good homestead teas. Mint, chamomile, and yarrow.

We freeze berries and rhubarb for pies and goodies.

    Thanks,

  • awesome video

  • Another great video. I'm so jealous.

  • GOOD JOB RON!!!
