I hated Avatar's 3D, as I dislike all 3D films. So yeah, forget the 3-D please, or at least release it optionally in both 3 and 2-D. It's easier on my eyes in the traditional fashion, and it really just ruins the whole film. Please and thank you from all the Film Traditionalists.
@Nabolzi 3D has actually come a very long way. Movies filmed with the latest 3D technologies (which Jackson is using) turn out to be quite amazing. RealD and Dolby Digital 3D theaters offer very sharp, clear images and aren't as prone to giving headaches to the viewers. 3D got a bad rep from movies filmed in 2D and then later converted to 3D which diminishes the effect and usually ends up looking terrible. This will not be one of those films. Expect the 3D effects to be better than Avatar!
@ffaorlandu I am yet to see a film in 3d that I did not find better in normal mode. I hope what you say are true but so far 3d have only been annoying in my eyes, even Avatar. If they dont get any better than they are today I hope it will die out in the end.
Tbh, 3D is an effect that when used properly is awesome, but when used in every single movie just because they can, it kind of kills the very purpose of it.
3D-effects will of course always be there, but I think that they'll make better use of it in the future.
Kind of when stereo sound came, and every single musician felt it necessary to pan the music back and forth between the loudspeakers.
Can I work with you guys? I don't need money :)

@ffaorlandu
I sure hope so.
Anyhow, this seems to be just another 3D fad, in a year or so it will have blown over I suppose.

@blehrolfbleh They said the same about colour TV.
Technology can't stay as it is forever, the 3D age is coming, sooner or later
Though, I think that the hobbit should have stayed 2d to match lord of the rings

Amazing! It's great to finally see things moving after all that unpleasantness between Peter Jackson and New Line Cinema.
