This is completely wrong.

A tennis serve is leg strength, while a WP shot is all core.

A javelin throw is a whole body.

A volleyball smash is just arm.

The waterpolo shot is probably the most complicated out there.

You must tread up with your opposite leg foreward, throw your other leg forward, have the ball in a hand, and release 45-55 deg. from the water.

@makemesomewaternoob ORRRR to put it easier for water polo dummies..... you have to get your upper body up out of the water while sizing up the goal and the goalie and get a power shot in or trick the goalie at that point you drop a nice soft lob in just out of the goales reach. :-)

I think that bringing your left shoulder in front of you in the wind-up - whether you prefer to have the left hand in the water as anchor/support, or swing the left arm out - is what matters in what he's trying to share. I like the way you've integrated the different disciplines.

a water polo shot is not at all common with these.... a javelin throw, his arm is straight, volleyball they just swing there arm, tennis, there almost sideways when they hit it, and its in no way AT ALL close to a dunk....

Having your opposite arm out of the water is a positioning used in a Span-dau type shot. Like any shot type it has its pros and cons. Dont be hating.

WATER POLO ALL THE WAY! I have been playing water polo since I was in 4th grade and just finished state for my senior year. I hated all the stupid kids at my school saying it was weak. Yeah right, I could run circles around our pussy football players. My school has been a leader in swimming and water polo for EVER! Football, has not. I would love to see them try what we do. I'm sorry to say but i dont think the waterpolo player is that good. Ofcourse, it looks nice but....why would you get your non-shooting arm out of the water. To get a stable shot and/or to leave the opportunity of a threathening open when you are not able to shoot, you want to leave that arm under water for support.

first you need to point your left shoulder towards the target with your right shoulder on the exact opposite end of the target and your left shoulder like throwing sideways.

the throw is much more like a baseball pitch than anything

always throw through

never pull your arm back in mid air to release the ball

i beg to differ. a javilen and a handball are the only similar ones, bc they are acutally throwing it, the other ones arent even close. and even then the javilen and handball arent that similar to begin with. bc a water polo player has to do it in the water without touching the bottom. and for polo u use your core and legs to get you into a good throwing postions..not you ARM. get your facts right
