I'd recommend beginners not to use their left hand as seen in the video. Left hand' thumb is too high which means you can't strech your fingers. You can see that he's using only two fingers most of the time.

That is different for each musik you wanna play. I am playing without a pick with 3 fingers. That means you are really fast. With the pick you can be fast to, but the sound will be more electric hard. And with a pick, the notes will be really clear, when you learn it in the right way :)

he doesnt even teach you the pulling off. for all you beginners, to pull off, you go in reverse of what he teaches you here. you play on a fret, then pull off, then you can hammer on again and if you practice, then you can play as fast as him. i play with 3 fingers though when i play bass, i also play guitar and all these techniques can be used on guitar too

When you're a beginner, its bad enough just getting a note to sound right never mind even attempting what this guys doing.

Start with the basics, learn your scales and you chords - one note at a time. Start slow and build it up but build it up only when you accomplish the perfect sound at the slower speed first. Use two fingers for finger plucking this will make you faster, and the only way to get good is to practice everyday.

I have to say the explanation was a bit duff. If you're going to film yourself teaching I think you should properly prepare what you're going to say.
