If you use aggression against peaceful people you are a bad person and should be called out for it, every time. Just about every cop in the world uses aggression against peaceful people every day.
Hmmm this week jake has made some valid points! Even if they were so quickly shot down by adams rebuttle! Lol... You see i think we're all adults! I think we can handle the drugs debate! And showing how much money is being wasted on the drug war is a key issue i feel... Then you have the associated deaths... What people are not interested in public safety and where their money goes?
@SgtCrom A posteriori argument could be made to say that you don't need to get Ron Paul in office to know that his views will be demonized for the problems caused by others. In fact we see all the time that the free market gets blamed for problems cause by factors that are not free market. I do feel that if people get a sample of what he represents they will enjoy it and want more, which would move us closer to real freedom.I guess time will tell.
Right now, the cops are being told that we, the general public, want to kill them. Many of us are really mad, but if I take Jake's meaning correctly by saying that if we play into the trap of cop-hating, rather than trying to win them over, they will most surely kill us. Remember Egypt? it wasn't killing the army that won the protesters that battle, but the fact that the army stood down.
I seldom agree with Jake Diliberto, and I think he overlooks things too often, but he's got his merits too.
I think Jake does have a point there (even though I don't agree with him). Basically his message is "pick your battles". Now on what those winning battles are... Heroin, no matter how right it would be to legalize it is too much of a loaded issue to win. Marijuana and dancing, are a little more iffy; they could go either way. But he is right about the cops. I disagree that WE'RE demonizing them (they're doing that to themselves) but we can't hate them. We need to reach out to them.
Good on Ron Paul once again. Forget Marijuana for a second, but the hemp plant has a versatility that could solve the economic crisis and even the energy crisis. Hemp, from building supplies to textiles, to paper, to oil (the kind that heats your home, not gets you high) and even as a pharmaceutical (especially in its refined form) is not only useful, but it's plentiful. There's a reason they call it weed... because if you let it, it grows like one. Ron Paul's saving the economy once again.
I can't believe I am going to write this but Jake is right the general population is sleeping and do not understand this topics. Maybe there's still hope for you Jake :)
Jake is....correct. Giving the mainstream the rope and tree to hang Libertarianism is moronic. If American Libertarianism wants to be taken seriously and wants to grow, we must be smart about packaging the message. Being smart, BTW, isn't the same as selling out. Scaring people away from Libertarianism by focusing on the "dumb crap" is dumb. I was too young to vote for Ron Paul in 88, but I voted for Marrou in 92. American libertarianism has been gaining since the 70s. Don't blow it, now.
I'm nearly fifty, a non user of marijuana (have decades ago) and have long wanted full decriminalization. AND I want no taxes on it. It is a unprocessed & unprepared product unlike alcohol and opiate products.
See the 18th amendment. The criminalization of marijuana is criminal in itself.
god damn Adam, your show is so great. Basically everything you cover, i have been doing and looking up/researching. Its as if you are a guide of some sorts to the freedom movement, along with Judge Nap.
You sir, are no sunshine patriot. Keep up the good work!
Molotov Cocktails are the easiest things in the world to make. As I'm an eccentric, I'd propose that every school aged child be expected to learn to make those or some other sort of weapon so as to take budgetary burdens off the police in regards to defending themselves. Of course, I'm being satirical. If the police and the Feds had their priorities straight there'd be no need for the majority of us to (likely illegally) take such matters into their own hands. Nihil Novus Sub Sol.
@terrorbackdoor The point is that this guy made it out like it's legitimate to damage property as long as you aren't physically harming people. My point is that damaging property is just as criminal, and not at all the way to bring attention to ANY cause. Nobody is going to look at someone with Molotov cocktails as someone who's got the right philosophy even IF they're working for a good cause.
Freedom of Choice! Adam very nice comeback against Jake. Demonizing the tyrants that infringe on the U.S. Constitution which our founding founders fought, bled, and died for would be a constitutional right.
Knowledge + Humility = Respect
Arrogance + Ignorance = Rudeness
"Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable." -John F. Kennedy
I think Jake makes a good point, except that I'm not so sure that Ron Paul is trying to win more than he is trying to take full advantage of the most attention he will ever receive in his political career in order to bring up REAL issues and to insert basic logic and common sense into the national debate.
Sadly, that A-Hole, Lawrence O'Donnell, was right when he said that after his campaign is over (if he doesn't win), he just goes back to being an easily ignorable congressman.
Who is demonizing police? And why wouldn't we have a problem with the sexual assaults by the TSA in the name of security?
As for the "weed", which mankind was blessed with...[Genesis 1:29] "And God said: Behold I have given you every herb bearing seed upon the earth, and all trees that have in themselves seed of their own kind, to be your meat:..."
As for the dancing... Doesn't that fall under the natural right of freedom of expression?
@guitardude1230 running and winning to be potus would mean a majority vote. I highly doubt uneducated youth will stand up and vote for him, so that leaves the mix of races, ages, religious sects and ethnicity's. Talking about heroin, marijuana, prostitution and similar topics isn't going to amount to much overall. Jake has a valid argument. Freedom encompasses all aspects, which would include those perhaps more lewd topics, when presenting it to the population as a whole.
@guitardude1230 I actually quite like that they put someone in there with a different perspective. It makes it a lot less one sided. His job in the show is to be something of a Devil's Advocate, which is always welcome, even when I totally disagree with him.
...(cont'd)...That's right, Jake. We can forgive you for your unwilling ignorance, but only for so long. Please stop trying to educate us in the freedom movement when it is you who needs the educating. I agree with Adam, that maybe the issues you are concerned about are the winning issues. The Free People never delegated much of the powers our "federal" (national) government exercises today, and we sure-as-hell never consented to being treated like animals by anyone in uniform.
Adam, during tonight's show, you mentioned that the previous generation wrecked the economy. Instead, you should have clarified that it was the POLICY-MAKERS of the previous generation. However, you are technically right from the perspective of natural law, in that they as a collective consented to the fraud taking place by doing nothing to resist it.
Jake, you should take it easy. I think you still have some maturing to do...
Jake needs to realize that Ron Paul runs on principals... he doesn't bullshit. If you don't like it than don't support Ron Paul... you can't pick and choose.
i laugh at jake, no one likes you if you talk about heroin huh, well RON PAUL DAMN sure got alot of clapping for talking about it , so guess your wrong again , oh how i wish you would leave and not come back , you waste time when other people do need the time to talk , oh and stop wearing the eyeliner, or atleast be man enough to admit you wear it , because its not natural.... but nice try to lie
Jake Diliberto is wacked out. Plainly, we need to NOT give up on legalizing weed and heroin and ENDing the treasonous Drug War. We NEED to put down the police state and nazi pig police activities - those ARE WINNING ISSUES among the rest of us who are daily VICTIMS of that evil. Dancing is the calmest thing we can do, and that too is a WINNING issue as the First Amendment is CRITICAL to our survival as a free state/nation. Jake is an old-foggie doofus. Adam has the right ideas, not Jake.
O.K. Adam, this is all that needs to be said about Marijuana. The Bottom line to remember is ALL THINGS OF GOD ARE GOOD. God created Marijuana, not Man, Alcohol was created by Man, so if anybody wants to get rid of anything, that should be the first thing to go. Let us have Our God Given Rights ( pleasures, lol) , Lets look at how many Alcohol has killed, compared to JUST marijuana. I bet Jake is just playing the foil to Adam Kokesh's character.
After the show, does Jake beg to be allowed to stop playing the villain who says silly things all the time or does he enjoy being hated for being such a cardboard Neocon cutout? He's gotta be acting here. He can't really believe what he's saying.
8-12k is a good way to say 10k but look like a fancier analyst. Good job though. Any predictions on full US ground invasion of Libya? Alex Jones says October latest.
I wonder how many people Jake has convinced to vote for Ron Paul, with his mainstream, bland, Neocon style, versus how many have been converted by the "antics" that bring peoples' attention to Liberties?
People see Jake and must think, "establishment." I bet he could bring a few old ladies over, but that's about it.
On the other hand, you've got millions of students who support Paul because of other activists standing up for freedom and then introducing the best candidate to them.
Though I totally understand Jake's point about choosing winning arguments, there needs to be those people who speak out for those "extreme" things. Let's be honest, if we totally ignore things like prostitution, weed, and other sorts of the like, we create a sort of exception to individual rights. Without those arguments, we create a shield to what is known as the seedier side of life. Let us do as Walter Block's book suggests, and Defend the Undefendable.
with all that focus on antiweed instead of just staying on track I thought i was somewhere else....its not going to happen and shut up about it huh? pshhh
Neocon is hilarious. He thinks he can tell people what important issues are. I believe if heroin were not legal less people would use it, and it would be easier for people to get treatment, rather than incarceration.
I have come to the conclusion that we need to cryogenically freeze Ron Paul until a time when we as activists have done our job so well, that the message of liberty becomes so strong that he can't help but win the presidency.
