  • She really played GREAT DRUMS!

  • Shoot. She could have been in my band anytime! Heck, I'd quit my band to go be in hers!

  • Karen Carpenter's drumming style was very "traditionalist" from a pre-rock point of view of popular music. Jazz drumming seemed to be the primary influence on her drumming style, which worked well because the Carpenters' pop arrangements were closer to jazz than they were to rock. I don't know if Karen would have been comfortable doing the sort of "power drumming" associate with hard rock, but it generally wasn't necessary for the Carpenters' recordings.

  • Was that John Denver in the marching band, the dude she took the drum from?

  • @NorthsideBill Sure looks like him!!!!

  • @NorthsideBill Sure looks like him!!!!

  • @steve7onfire that's definately john denver.... too bad he never did get into space...

  • NO shes not into buddy rich not at all!! :-P

  • Mitch Mitchell puts her to shame, she is the best "girl" drummer Ive ever seen, but then again there aren't many.

  • Dam, that's pretty amazing....I wonder how many of today's diva wannabes can play an instrument like that!

  • wow she was so talented

  • 3:48 - Wow! Karen can be in two places at once!!

  • @YouzTube99 Superposition is nothing to be fucked with

  • she died of heart complications due to anorexia nervosa

  • Nice surprise seeing John Denver in this clip!

  • Where's this clip from? Haha, They're so funny together at the start

  • She might still be alive if she'd been left to play the drums at the back instead of being forced out to the front to sing... but the world would have been deprivd of one of the greatest female voices ever.

  • how did she die?

  • @dedios03 she closed her eyes and went to sleep

  • Her sense of timing was excellent! She was an amazing drummer!

  • she was great

  • Great drummer, but terrible playback

  • Meg White should take lessons from Karen.

  • Karen died

  • I don`t think so... Meg has her own style... But Karen It's great... AND SHE SANG TOO!!

  • si es playback, pero lo encaja perfectamente ,supongo que no lo hicieron en directo por el problema de sonorizacion de tanto istrumento de percusion ,pero el talento de karen esta mas que desmostrado.

  • Karen is a real great drummer. I wish that they showed some more of her drum solos on here. She's my personal favorite drummer! She was also a favorite drummer of Buddy Rich.

  • @Pogues Her style is very much Buddy Rich influenced.

  • @SuperGogetem In fact, Buddy, from what I've read, praised Karen's drumming abilities :D

  • that's because being a female drummer in 1976 is the special part.

  • "Why not?" Good girl, Karen. You didn't let anyone be the boss of you.

  • Because Fall Out Boy sucks.

  • Because Fall Out Boy is a faggy little mainstream emo band with no talent and their drummer probably sucks the rest of the band's dicks on the tour bus because he cant play drums for shit. The rest of the band enjoys gettin blowjobs from him and all other men btw. lol

  • also, Fall out boy didnt exist back then. They're lucky. lol.

  • Wow got good technique

  • Ya know, I really had no idea Karen Carpenter was that talented. I knew she could sing, but I had no idea she was at that level of percussionist. What a talented lady she was. RIP KC

  • I love this video this video has inspirierd me to learn to play the drums like Karen!

  • Best and first female drummer to make history!

  • that was interesting
