I have no idea who this young man is,but he spoke so eloquently about such an important issue! Clearly he is a worthy recipient of the award,& this world sure needs vibrant,steadfast,unafraid spokespersons for LGBT rights.Hopefully it won't be too long before we don't have to fight for any rights which the heterosexual citizens of this planet simply take for granted! EQUALITY FOR ALL!

@popazz1 This is the gay screenwriter of the movie "MILK" about the gayactivist

and openly gay politician Harvey Milk, who was killed together with the mayor in San Fransisco

in the end of the 70's. Dustin Lance Black got an Oscar for best screenplay 1 or 2 y. ago for this movie. You should find his speech on YT receiving his Oscar also. There also exists a documentary about the life of Harvey Milk with real footage + interviews called : "The Times of Harvey Milk". ('85).

Ok,so thanks for clarifying this for me. I've been a huge fan of Harvey Milk ever since 1st hearing of his activism & subsequent election as Councilman! I have the excellent dvd with Sean Penn as Milk,he gave a remarkable portrayal. I also saw a repeat of the documentary a few months back on British television.I was a teenager from '73 to '79 & found Milk to be a huge inspiration! Thanks for taking time o set me 'straight' about who Black is!
