Nice video! I live in Salt Lake City and I would say more than half the trains that come through here have DPU units. In the last Four years I've been seeing more trains with DPU units than I've ever seen. I started noticing it right after the economy took a crap.
I beg to differ, electric trains may have their advantages over diesels. Diesels are more heavier and have more traction than electric trains. Horse power is speed and traction is power, that's why you see most freight railroads who know they haul some major tonnage go for GE or EMD Diesel electric locomotives. Electric trains are best for passenger services because of their speed.
Dash 9s? Have you ever been on a GE motor? Im gonna say that the EMD SD40s are the true warriors, 40+ years of service, dont get much better then that!
Are they Dash 9's at the front? (I'm new to this) That train is so long, the work crew could sit down make themselves a coffee, breakfast, light a pipe and read the newspaper before it finished passing by! :)
this location is called CP Martinez, and thats the cajon sub not the mojave sub! But still an awesome shot with those work crews in the beginning, 5 stars!
The person that drives the train is called the ENGINEER (right side) and the person that talks back and forth to dispatch is called the CONDUCTOR (left side) - It's as simple as that! ;-)
You're right!! That had a lot of what i want to see in a vidio. That was one long stack train! liked the last train best, cool ending. 5 star & favorites.
Loving the shot right at the end where the lead engine on the other train and the DPU on the passing train were right side by side!! Beautiful country and trains, great video, yeah!!
