People dont put up with region coded DVD players any more and the manufactures know this. Any player i had that was limited to a certain region was either returned or thrown in the bin, plain and simple.
Depends on the refresh rates that the player supports. If the player suppors 50hz then it is compatible with PAL. I'm not sure if 5140k supports PAL or just NTSC, I think it does because the player is autovolt(110v or 240v compatible).
Yes, if the DVD player does not support DivX or Xvid playback, changing the regional lock code will not make the DVD player capable of reading formats that it doesn't support. Changing the region code only makes the player read discs that are restricted to certain regions in the world.(i.e. Region 3 SE Asia only, Region 2 Japan only, etc.)

If you put a different region dvd in your computer, it will automatically switch, but be careful, you can only switch between a few times

You can get all the codes from ALLDVDCodes - just search it on google.
