  • I don't think Plant's voice was good here.

  • at 0:21, robert overheated his voice.

  • if i was one of those two dudes who jimmy shook hands with, i wouldn't wash my hand for the rest of my life.

  • 1975 o auge do Led Zeppelin !

  • OW My Fuckin' Good What that Fuckin' Holy Shitty groove on 2:31 DAAAAAAAAAMMMIT!!! The fusion between the wah guitar, the bass and the drum's rythm was AWWWWESOMME. I think that Led Zeppelin Got the perfection here.

  • every live is different !

  • jajajaj su gayo 0:21

  • I'm pretty sure the 2 guys that got their hands shaken by Jimmy never washed their hands again.

  • i prefer the version of the 1970, but this is pretty good

  • Been reading Stephen Davis's "LZ 75" lately. Plant's vocal cracks here (and on other vids from the '75 tour) can be explained by the fact that he suffered with some degree of influenza through the entire tour. And Page hurt his finger too early in the tour...the show must go on, though, and they sounded great no matter what!

  • @drydreamer831 reading the book now, and wanted to see some footage from the tour

  • Led Zeppelin is fuckin AMAZING.! Especially live

  • LOL!!

  • Lot of talk about Robert's vox. My two cents is that, yeah there was some damage by late '72, but he struggled through it bravely and often brilliantly (this clip is the end of yet another marathon show and really shouldn't be thought of as representative). By the 1977 tour, Rob had really devised a different vocal approach - deeper but rich with passion, emotion, and strange flexibility (forget the Seattle clips, that's not representative either!). Check my channel for good raw blues, btw

  • Robert Plant gets my respect, he gave it his all in every single one of his performances in Led Zep, he admitted that all his wailing he had done damaged his voice. You can clearyly see here that this is when he lost his voice, but he still gives it his all.

  • HEY GUYS CHECK OUT MY ARRANGEMENT OF THIS SONG!!!!!! its in the video responses under (COMMUNICATION BREAKDOWN {PHEIGH and JUSTIN RICHEY cover} i would love to know what Led Zeppelin fans think of it as i am Zeppelin fanatic as well!!!! thanks

  • it is just a gig man. every gig is different.

so zep is still a great band, even if the vocals aren't too good on this one,

it's just one of the 1000ts they had.

  • @haytionette your the man for saying that, thats one of the reasons i love them. they capture the intensity and energy of imporvisation as well as the heavyness of rock n roll. they never played the same way twice

  • It's interesting how Plant starts out hitting the note but then his voice cracks the next time he does it. It's all psychological. As soon as he becomes aware that he hit the note without his voice cracking, he can't do it again. The same thing happens to me as a singer. It's a jinx. It's really hard to stop it once it starts.

  • It's your thing,

    Do what you wanna do,

I can't tell ya, who to sock it to!...

  • John Paul Jones????

  • Oh, His poor aged vocal cords. :(

Nothing will ever weild such a glorious set pipes, ever again.

  • @litterboxplayhouse Chris Cornell gives him a run for his money

  • @Noseheros Oh, at this point in time for Robert Plant, DEFINITELY, but i wouldn't say so for Plant's vocal performance on Communication Breakdown in 1968 (live in sweden, i think) You should check it out, if you haven't already. Major respect to Chris Cornell, though.

  • @Noseheros Wait, it's not the "live in sweden promo", it's the other black and white one with around 116,000 views.

  • Listen to that 1969 black and white version to hear what plant can really do, 7 years of howling will take it out of anyone. It's still an awsome perfomance non the less

  • 3 hours 45minutes! No one ever plays for that long now. they did play long concerts, no wonder his voice is a bit croaky!

  • @Robertfyfe62 Your right, but Today Dream Theater plays nearly more then 4 Hours ;)

  • this is definetly a kool version

  • JIMMY PAGE /ROBERT PLANT DES GRANDS , magique ce titre , çà fume ,çà pete ,d'enfer !!! very gooddddddddddddddd

  • Is it me or Bonzo allmost fell down ???

  • Holy shit, Jimmy Page shook peoples' hands? I didn't think he ever did that...he's too famous.

  • I love this!

  • at 1:16 is my favorite part

  • I saw these guys on this 1975 tour, at the Capital Centre outside Washington, DC.

My hearing was never the same again.

    It was worth it.

  • Is it just me or Plant was really crapy in live

  • @rapid287

Sounds like he's not far from losing his voice temporarily. Probably from singing for days, weeks and months before this was recorded.

  • @rapid287 I personally think he sucked live in the mid 70s, but he was awesome in the late 60s when the band first started and all. All that singing definitely took a toll on his voice after a while

  • those 2 lucky people got to shake hands with Jimmy

  • ooh, is anyone wishing that Plant took better care of his voice? If he didn't sing on these sort of days he would'nt have lost his incredible range. But then hey, this sort of recklessness is what made Led Zeppelin so incredible...

ps. loving the reggae improv in the middle!

  • ooh, is anyone wishing that Plant took better care of his voice? If he didn't sing on these sort of days he would'nt have lost his incredible range. But then hey, this sort of recklessness is what made Led Zeppelin so incredible...

  • I love how he says they're going to go listen to Bob Marley after the show. The image of Zeppelin sitting around smoking ganja and listening to Bob is just too awesome.

  • @zergiore94 Agree!! Led Zeppelin could blow any band stage of stage

  • jimmy was so good because that dragon was biting his balls!

  • fahmatatafelabong..fatabobu..heh

  • past their best? easy they came out with some amazing songs after 75

  • Even when they are past their best they are awfully cool....

  • robert omg

  • charles sharr murray , keep takin the pills

  • dudes pay your dues. R.I.P

  • Doctor Jimmy :)

  • My dad was at this concert he is so lucky

  • My Dad was at this concert , he is so lucky to have seen Zepellin at their best !

  • 4:03 "I think I can smell the ganja

4:14 "I can smell the canbias"

and then stuff I can't make out

    "If it's ok...smoke it (?) right now.

    The jamaican part is funny!

  • AWESOME!!! I DIDN'T KNOW THERE WAS A VIDEO OF BREAKDOWN FROM EARLS COURT!!!

  • I worship Led Zeppelin, yet what they have spawned (heavy metal) disgusts me.

.....on another note. Jimmy Page, along with Jeff Beck, Jimi Hendrix, and John McLaughlin cannot be touched. by ANYONE. NO ONE.

oh also, let's all pay tribute Bonzo. He passed away 30 years ago today. I think I speak for many, many people when I say He is greatly missed.

  • @LedZeppelinisgod100 I too Love The Mahavishnu John McLaughlin... Have you listened to Django Rienhardt? He is the precurser to John McLaughlin. Preety awsome stuff.

  • @viidiot OH YEAH. Django is the man. ridiculous.

  • I worship Led Zeppelin, yet what they have spawned (heavy metal) disgusts me.

.....on another note. Jimmy Page, along with Jeff Beck, Jimi Hendrix, and John McLaughlin cannot be touched. by ANYONE. NO ONE.

  • You know whats funny? Its funny he mentioned ganja. Cuz jimmy was calm from 1968-1972. Then he was a lil hyper in 1973. Then in 1975 toooooooootaaaaaaaalyyy relaxed and laid back. Then 1977-1980 he was doin all this crazy stuff. Marijuana? I think so :D. oh and does anyone know if page uses legato? or does he pick all those notes? :OOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • Jimmy shaking hands at the end what a gentelman.

  • @bushwasher116 i think he was and he is a great man....and the greatest rockstar...

  • For non Brits.........The "And it's goodnight from me and it's goodnight from him" refers to"The two Ronnies" comedy TV show that was big in Britain in the seventies.........and the Holy Grail crack is Monty Python and the Holy Grail film which was released in 1975.

  • This is gotta be the first true metal song, because no other band at the time had the same metal sound, and also black sabbath's album didn't come until the next year, blue cheer didn't exactly play metal in 1968, it was like a heavy bluesy rock, not metal. Alot of people will say black sabbath created the genre, they didn't, they created the dark sound of it. This is recording is so far the most metal heavy metal can get back in the late 60s

  • @Xxkoolsk8ter111xX Are you sure? I thought Zeppy did hard blues guitar driven rock. Metal makes me think of high-treble guitars with overloaded distortion that play power chord riffs. I don't think Communication Breakdown is Metal. Zeppelin didn't do Metal, but the solo sounds alot like a metal solo.

  • Plant's voice was weak throughout this period. He had vocal chord surgery in 1974.

  • @jdidnoid He had sugery for what? His voice sounded way better back in the early zeppelin days.

  • @dubbly1 He had surgery on his throat. I dont remember exactly what it was, but I believe it was for polyps. After the surgery he lost a lot of his upper-range and he couldnt sing as high anymore. Thats why there is a huge difference between the 1969-1973 era and the post 1974 recordings.

  • @jdidnoid it makes really really sad his voice was just out of this world before that :(

  • @robdzeppelin no i just think those r some of there best concerts they were at there best i no alot more concerts

  • royal albert hall

    msg

n earls court r there best concerts

  • @Kawecki1217 lmao, it seems like the only conerts you know are only the ones that were recorded and official released by LZ -_-

  • Man, that little blip at :22 is a fuckin riot.

Props to the Greatest band ever.

As an singer knows, sometimes you've been singing too much

    and that crazy shit happens...lol

  • It's a shame they toured so much it took a tole on Plant's voice . His voice was so great from 69-72 era .

  • I WANTA B A JAMAICAN LOLOL

  • It is so funny to see Jimmy today as a bumbly brit versus the super rock star (image) in this vid.

  • what can u say about music today that hasnt been said about afghanistan, its bombed out n devoid of life

  • John Bonham trips over his timpani and falls at the end!

  • at 5:36 such a magic moment :)

  • hey to play the jamacian riff you play the second fret then the fifth then the fourth on the d string

  • 3:20 Robert Plant is speaking to the guitar. The "command" and "response" technique

  • @JIMIVAI2005 SO CAN ~~~ i ~~ IN FLORIDA ! IT'S EVEYWHERE ~ CHEAP AS WELL ! REG-S ! 25 QUATER TO TOPS $ 40.

  • thye shoulda started playing dyer maker

  • HEAR THIS AT SOLAR TV

  • HEAR IT AT CHANNEL 9

  • hahaha this is cool !!!!!!

  • i think i can smell the ganja? :)) is that what he said? plant is the man and his voice is ok, i don't understand why everybody's bitchin' about it.

  • dude plants voice is fucked, but its so funny when he starts talking in a jamacian accent

  • A last number of Earle's Court night in May 1975.They are trying out new" improv-r&b-reggae"

material here for an finale. Do you here any boo's? That is how Led Zep grew onstage!

  • simply the best... better than all the rest

  • sound and look really tired here, Plants voice is on the ropes.

  • Communication Breakdown! Yeah, this is it! 5/5 : D

  • does bonham fall down at 5:07? hahaha fucking trooper

  • Page a class act. Shakes hands with some of the audience at the end. Wouldn't see that now days.

  • I love how Page can't find the pedal right before the solo.

  • yep u can tell if a man has class just from things like that

  • lol robert is sending a message to someone in this song? and who is johny ow whatever his name rober talks about? am just confused

  • I loveee 5:01 they look so great together! the best friendship in Rock history! they're even Synchronized xD and..one question, what the hell was Robert talking about? xD..that's so typical I love them..♥

  • Just to put in the same terms rap and real music is, well, waste of time.

  • I'm not a fan of rap, but your comment is ignorant.

  • i dont think it matters where zeppelin took it they would just always make it sound good i think if jimmy page had a love for being a DJ hip hop and rap would be completely different and sound much better and rock would be in the dump like how hip hop and rap is nowadays but thats just my theory on the guy

  • Rap and Hip Hop isnt on the same level musicly. It requires no use of instruments, and just someone talking to a beat made with synthesizer. Rock can't and ever be in the groud. Its been and will keep standing the test of time. Great rock liek this doesnt die out. Rap and Hip Hop does/did. And someone tell Lil' Wayne to stop trying to play guitar.

  • yeah on my baseball team we were talking about great music that actually involves people playing instruments and the guitar got mentioned cause some kids started playing. this black kid who tried to act ghetto but was from the suburbs says he knows how to play real guitar like lil wayne. we just laughed at him

  • lol I had one of those guys at high school. We had our best kicks with that guy! his voice still cracked all the time. lol

  • 0:22 lol

  • are you talking bout the thing he does with his finger?

  • It's funny that little reggae sounding riff that Page throws in on this song was later recorded as Jam Sandwich for the Death Wish 2 soundtrack which he did the score for

  • lol Robert Plant and reggae music!!! I've seen everything

  • he is a great singer but 0:19 is so damn funny :)

  • this is almost as much worth watching for Plant's goofy rasta riffing as it is for Jimmy Page's greatness

  • Comment removed

  • 5:07 whats wrong with bonzo ?

  • le hagarro un paro cardiaco ajja

  • you know the only thing thats wrong with this video is that bass n drums are lack of volume

  • 4:04 I think I can smell the Ganja .. hahahahahahhaa

  • At the end when he says "watch out for the Holy Grail", he's referring to the Monty Python movie. Led Zeppelin, along with Pink Floyd, apparently partially funded that movie. But... movie references aside, this might have been both the most humorous version and one of the best versions of Communication Breakdown that I've ever heard. I wish I was there to get that almost four hour set by Zeppelin... Rock on!

  • And at the end they also annouce the next star Bob Marley and The Wailers.. :))

  • AWESOMNESS!!!

  • LOOOL this jamaican part rules!! xD

  • Wonderful video!

It seems that Bonzo falls while leaving the drums. Did somebody see that?

  • Just four guys making a lot of money and beautiful music!

  • 1975 what an amazing year! I was born! I apologize if you just read that, really....I'm only egotistical behind closed doors...and even then only sometimes....like now...right now...can you smell the ganja (breathe in deep- surpassing the smell of the bullshit here)...again sorry............1975 wooo! I was born that year! ..........

  • Led Zeppelin is the greatest band to ever rock the world, Jimmy is my hero, R.I.P. Bonzo, awesome show lol I can smell the ganja

  • i hate it when peapole say that robert lost his voise from 75 cause he was sick at earls court and hes voise was perfect at 77 and 79 and a 80 bootleg i heard

  • i think his voice was great at earls court i didn't even think he was sick

  • it was greate but you cant realy compare it to madison square garden thats my point

  • watch the rock and roll video from earls court

    thatll change your mind

  • thats like the only song he sings were he sounds bad tho

  • yeah you are right

  • listen to how the west was won and then compare it to those years

  • plant lost his voice in late 71/ 72 tour.. they had to adjust the shows before that also, shame ! some great one of performances inbetween, but rare!

  • 1975 page had his hair really long

  • page is great!

  • LOL why did honham fall at the end?! He puts his hand on his chest as well. Must have been tired or something.

  • Well,it was a 3 hour an 45 minute show!

  • @Chrisdrumz thats a show dude

  • he had a high heart rate or high blood pressure happens to me all the time after only an hour 30 minutes

  • AMAZING. page is my idol

    lol voice crack at 0:36

  • oh definetly. i would too. amazing pose at 4:56!! i love the reggae dyer maker interlude. well, the dyer maker part was only the oh-ohs by plant...still. EPIC.

  • actually that riff that page is doing during that part is later used for a song called Jam Sandwich that Page did for the soundtrack Death Wish 2. You should check it out. It's pretty heavy man

  • Lucky guys at 5:36

  • You're damn right!

  • love theat solo never get enought of it fucking amaizinig
