I loved 50's scifi before people knew that it takes more than a few minutes to fly to another planet. You need gravity or magnetic boots or you float in space in a rocket. Although they did have flat screen video phones in this serial. It sure didn't take much to entertain us in the 50's. I would say that Forbidden Planet and This Island Earth spoiled it for anyone wanting to make a low budget space movie after 1956. These two movies had excellent special effects for their time.
