Sampling isn't making a beat from scratch. If I wanted to watch someone make a sampled beat I wouldn't have searched "beat from scratch." Good beat, but bad title for this video.
@mtf1984 I feel you. I titled it that because this wasn't a beat I had previously made nor was it samples I had picked out before. I heard your song not bad for your first try. You might need to tighten up the vocals so they blend better with the track though. Stay up.
@maja216 I didn't spend as much time editing it as I should of. I've got two other songs on my soundclick page. One of them, named Girl the things you do, is me and 3 of my homeboys. I spent alot more time in the editing process on that one, because I wanted the other rappers to really be happy with the sound. If you want to check it out, my name on soundclick is Solodarappa.
@WHYKNOX I repair and upgrade equipment on the side. It's kinda hard to find the card readers now but I still have a few externals and internals left.
Dude, that shit was ill as Hell! I make beat but I can't sample like that. I sample in a similar way as say...Juicy J of Three 6 Mafia. I find a tight loop, slightly modify it then synth it up, you know? How do I sample in a more traditional style?
@63legendary I also started sampling loops and as I got better I started to use chops instead of loops, After I got comfortable with using chops I started layering samples and eventually playing stuff over the samples. Now that I've tried a few different approaches I just choose the 1 that will sound best with the sample I have on deck. I try my best to attempt new things all the time. It isn't all about using a ton of chops or getting technical it just has to sound good at the end.
they are both great pieces. Chopping and time stretching is easier on the mpc, but sequencing is better on the mv 8000/8800. Ultimately i went with the mpc 2500 because i liked the way it looked. LOL! But these are just my opinions. Do your research and remember, it aint the gear, its the artist that makes the music.
Well I'm a bit partial to the MPC because I've been using one for a while but really the machine is just an extension of the person. I used to use an Akai S-20 and I haven't found many people who used or let alone liked that machine but I used it and won the 2002 beat Olympics with it. Just choose what you feel most comfortable with.
this is incredible!
