  • Thumbs up if you think this is great :)

  • what amazing playing! this is a piece where the notes and the rhythm themselves do little in performance. what i mean is, the song would sound bland if not for the character and expression of the violinist. He makes it sound amazing!!!

  • Do we know who played this? Because it wasn't Kreisler, the recording's too good and the playing is drastically different :)

  • michelle was playing this song in one episode of sailor moon when serena wanted to be smarter! I just love this song!

  • so beautiful, melodious and mysterious.

  • what a beautiful piece.. i love it!!!!

  • Woah, this is really weird to hear on violin. Like the first time I heard it was on Lindberg's "The Virtuoso Trombone." I just bought it (the score is for violin) as an audition piece for trombone.

Maybe it's just me being biased, but I like the trombone sound to this piece a lot more.

  • nice...

  • if only "classicalmusiconly" would tell us where he got this intrerepretation from......

  • yannoooo i usally listen to drum and bass and dubstep but honestly... this is truly beautyfull to listen to

  • this piece literally brings me to tears [i kid you not]

    BEAUTIFUL PIECE hands down.

  • @qzstuffs agreed

  • I love it !!!

  • I could not - and would not want to exist without classical music!

  • Beautiful and relaxing!

  • there is a piano transcription for that piece.

    great btw

  • My father used to play this, when I was a child...Today I love all the Kreisler's works.

  • this chunky

  • Rachmaninoff's piano version of this is terrific!

  • Hi, greetings from Austria!

This song is called LiebesLEID not LiebesLIED.

One means Love Song (Liebeslied) the other Pain of Love(Liebesleid)

  • im 5 months pregnant and am not fan of classical music..but whn my doctor said that its good for my baby...i try few..and found this song..very calm, and the melody was just perfect...now i start to collect classical music to relax my self while helping my baby to develop her mental ability :)love it..

  • @angeliqueblake

Oh trust me it works! My very dear mother used this for me when I was in her tummy.

I still love classical and have a high IQ.

  • @angeliqueblake Happy Mothers Day!

Also talking i complete sentences is a great way of helping baby learn to speak faster and develop their little mind.

  • @angeliqueblake

the emotions a powerful key when the baby develops the unconcious mind in growth. please be natural and pleasintly vigelent. Im no doctor but growing a baby is developed by common sense a very long time ago, Otherwise we wouldnt such the dominant race. you made the right choice, aslong as it was your own based on pure logic not emotion.

    and?

feel free to ask anymore questions

  • the melody sounds a bit like the nursery song hush little baby doesn't it?

  • @licoricestic

no it dosnt, thats like saying 18th century music sounds just like 19th century.

  • Does anyone know where this was recorded?

  • Liebeslied means "Love Song", doesn't it?

    Great piece!

  • @boorelius it means dear love i think

  • @jessmith444

"dear love" would be "liebe Liebe" ;-)

  • @SweetManiacDeluxe

    :) Liebe slied

  • @MoGotMilk What do you want to tell me??? :)

  • @SweetManiacDeluxe

    :) liebe liebe

  • @SweetManiacDeluxe

im honestly a bit confused as to what to say, im smiling a bit too much.

  • @boorelius

Yes, "Liebeslied" means "Love Song", BUT the title is written wrong, it should be "LiebesLEID", what means "Love's Sorrow"

  • Now I'm playing this piece and is lovely!

    MIQUEL

  • awesome!!

  • youtube, aparently, has alot of critics or i might say professional musicians that know how to make music to comment on their scale of opinion. its like how they say nowa days "talking shit"

if you ask them to elaberate, you will know what im talking about. try this experiment, whenever somone has an opinion ask them to elaberate on that, read what they have to say and enjoy your laugh.

  • Elaborate. I'm not exactly clear on what you're saying ;-).

I'm gonna try that -- nice idea! :-)

  • what anyone prefers is what they prefer, an opinion is just an opinion, an arguement supports it, unless they admit it. you people loose by stating logical but rational arguements, no ones winning but the both of depates are certainly desperate to state what they have to say, its easy to write do it more in real life.

  • i heard from a friend that black people are stupid... im inclined to beleive him.

  • your very kind to note what you think. obviously someone has bothered to listen.

  • I was being sarcastic about mixing rap and classical. As far as people go, thugs do not enjoy pure music like classical. Thugs is a general term by the way. THugs need a tribal drum line with murderous theme lyrics. Or on the flip side there is death metal...now what is that all about? Seems some people love death + music...must be cool or hip huh?Anyways....

  • your not wrong

  • Classical music is the same as modern music, since it's mostly crap for too few good stuff. Some classical music, not necessarily the best, stood the test of time, as some modern music will.

@dmgcat: listening to classical because it makes you feel sophisticated is EXACTLY the same as listening to rap to feel tough. There are great artists in every genre of music, but if you want for some reason to restrain yourself to one genre, that's your choice, but your missing some great music.

  • "Missing some great music?" How can you compare such senseless SHIT as rap and deathmetal with something as beautiful as classical music? And what you're saying about classical music is not at all true; ask yourself this: would you yourself be able to play that "crap" that has stood the test of time? I don't think that dmgcat is listening to classical music to feel sophisticated, but rather for the emotion and passion that can ONLY be felt from listening to classical music.

  • your a baffling idiot.

  • its only been a several hundred years, not more then 3 to 5 life times, it didnt survive the test of time, its not a test. it is an acheivement and people achknowledge it is why its still here, or will still be created. music is all the same, they all have notes, octaves, sheets, tempos, and melodys. the diference is the person. your not wrong. you just state a useless point of view

  • there are many good black musicians, why are being so racist and stereotypical. if u hate rap, then dont listen to it. why do people feel the need to put down any genre of music. people can listen to whatever they like. in my opinion, there are no so called "bad" music. its all personal preference. i like classical, rap, and a lot of other stuff.

  • ray charles and a few other famouse jazz musicians i know about, your interest is very honorable.

  • @dmgcat

i listen to classical music and im the opposite of sophisticated, you shouldn't need a reason to listen to a genre or type of music. And mixing rap with classical... plz lets not kill classical music for me.

  • youv stated a point, that i could not have said better myself. "im the opposite of sophisticated"

  • @dmgcat

im 16 and im here arent I?

  • @dmgcat Hey I am only 15 and yet I am here. This what i hate people my age listening to Rap. But i also hate it when good music becomes too popular like right now as i am posting this comment Rap is getting less and less popular and i give it by 2012 your not going to see people wearing their pants hanging below their posterior. Now Rock or their sub genres Emo, Alternative, Punk are getting more and more popular and i'm sad because i like them before they got popular. Now i hope this never does

  • @dmgcat oh, right, i'm 14 and i listen to both pop and classical -- or should i say, i listen to classical a lot more than pop. i play the clarinet, participate in the school orchestra, and has more Classical music CDs home than pop song CDs. and oh, i always come to this channel for this playlist. that pretty much shows u that not ALL teens are ignorant kids like u say.

  • @dmgcat btw, many of my classmates and friends play an instrument as well, and we all have at least a Grade 5. (i'm going on Grade 8.)

  • think i'd in any way be able to mix this into a hip hop like beat?

  • What's your IQ, man? 50 ?

  • u would die for 50s cent music ( more than u do now ) if he knew classical music..even though he was making rap...

  • This is so soothing it take your stress away!

  • so beautiful!

  • first of all, im new to classical, and i like, but its easy to love a great many musics. After all, the violin knows No Borders. People who argue about music are already in hell.

  • I don't understand how people who love classical music can love other genres. I don't know.. ever since i was 4 ive been listening to onyl classical and when i tried to listening to other things, i felt it wasn't pure enough. The other music was just not as beautiful...

  • Short of views my friend...

  • variety my friend.

  • varietyyyy.. varietyyyy?! classical has so MUCH. Romantic, baroque, classical as in Mozart, Beethoven, and within each of them, the pieces are always nuanced with emotion and stories. Plus, different kinds, concertos, sonatas, symphonies! how can you say you still need variety?! i have an ipod worth of classical in my computer

  • ah, you misunderstand, what i meant was, in response to: "I don't understand how people who love classical music can love other genres." i meant that other people like other genres too for a variety in musical tastes. kind of like a palette.

  • Nope I didn't misunderstand, I know what you replied to. I was just saying how classical, for me at least, satisfies all musical tastes. but oh well

  • your lenguistics intruige me you persuade in a manner id hope was kind of new for you.

  • classical music is so pure and perfect♥

i wish i could have classical music playing in my mind ALL day!

    like a mental ipod :)

  • uhhhhh well, im a girl

  • lol, trust me, ull get there eventually.

insanity, depression and music go together oh so well

  • you might be right, but what if it was a passion.

  • @watchmeshine22 really dont u love rock!!!

  • @azyome no i do!!!! i love rock, pop, metal, indie, oldies, jazz, hip hop, r&b, and a lot of others just not bluegrass and bubblegum pop!!! :P blehh... but its just that when i am relaxed i love to listen to classical because its just so peaceful♥

  • @watchmeshine22 cool! your like a....music knowing machine lol

  • @azyome hahahhaha thanks :) i love my music♥

  • @watchmeshine22

    its kind of painful,

  • @MoGotMilk what is? :\

  • @watchmeshine22

    i dont know

but a long time ago i used to think of classical all day, until it started looping. :P just kidding. you can see where im going with this though careful for what you wish for, it comes true

  • @MoGotMilk ... indeed it is. very heavy. very impressive. very deep.

  • @watchmeshine22 I'm lucky (or cursed), with having "earworms" of some of these beautiful pieces which haunt me! Maybe it's because they are just as relevant to today's lifestyle as they were to their original audience?

I wish music could be really played during those great moments of one's life (like in the movies).

  • I Love itt

  • great music!! where do you download it??

  • this song rocks. i like ALL classical music except the boring ones

  • I love this song D: So very, very much. The shape of the sound is very lovely, and the light and sweet way the bow lifts sound, very niiiice<3

  • I like this song alot :D

kinda weird how i switch from The Devil Wears Prada, Metallica and all that to this O__O

  • I'm the same, i just like to hear something different, it's more interesting, to hear something .. different. maybe more calm u can say? (compared to metallica at least lol)

  • LMAO I LOVE this particular piece, but I love a lot of metal, punk, and classic rock. But yet, I also like jazz. SO weird! ^_^ But music is really unique. I cant put it into words. Music.... is calming and can relate to anyone- even if there's no words in the song. And it doesn't even matter what genre- as long as you enjoy the feel of it. :)

(LMAO that probably didn't make a lot of sense =_=)

  • what i love is that you said "love" because it can relate to anyone, is alsong as people still have emotion they will feel it, despite who they are. your very cool

  • who the HELL caress about how someeonee is spelling a freaking word? has anyone noticed that on classical music videos, people tend to have really stupid arguments the most random and irrelevant crap????

SERIOUSLY GUYS, get a life, please.

btw i like this song :)

  • I'm doing my drivers ed to this : ]

  • You can never have to much classical music.

  • im doin my hwk 2 this hehehe

  • its liebesleid not liebeslied.

    liebesleid = woe of love

    liebeslied = lovesong

  • this helps me do homework too

  • Stupids.

    Music is not for "USE".

You should have respect, Music is art, not a secondary thing

  • LOL!

I am in grade 7 and i'm using classical music to help my relax while doing homework!

  • Did you learn in grad school your unique spelling of "frivolous?" You seem the internet equivalent of the grouch who won't give the ball back to the kids after it lands on his lawn.

And music IS for use. For a simple example, look to marches. Pedants who disparage marches as a lesser form of music don't know what they're talking about. Sousa's creations are simply in a genre different from Mahler's. Great artists both.

  • Who the hell are you? I didn't even initally send you that comment. Concerning my spelling error, I write "comments," and don't compose them. I assure you that I have better things to do with my time than submit a spell check for each message that I send to people on youtube. I get tired of people expounding their background information in realtion to why they listen to classical music, I was just taking care of the little blighter.

  • "Blighter" is not contemporary American English, you're right, though it is ubiquitous in the English Isle lexicon. Also, why am I a jerk? I never dealt you such a disparaging profanity. I thank you for your contributions in World War 1, but do learn to be a little more courteous and appropriate when leaving a comment.

  • wow. you use big words

    :))

  • LOL.

  • hahahahahahahaha. Oh, you were being serious? ...

  • I am in my 70's and i find that classical music is exciting, calming; it allows my imagination to soar and still has the cpacity to soothe the soul.

  • classical, romantic, great

  • i love classical music, but i have a wide range of musical taste. i mean i'm a teenager so... i don't have a fave genre b/c i think they're all great. :0

  • classical is nice but rock is good too, have an open mind x D

  • Well I think this is way better than most of the newer rock songs but have you ever listened to what young people are listening to today? no more rock but hip hop and rap, music without instruments, music without feelings, just computer generated crap.Rock'n roll music is played with instruments and there are other feelings inside than here theres more agression but agression is a very important feeling I think. Great piece

    Sorry 4 bad english

  • Some Rap has emotion and intelligent lyrics, but most just use juvenile descriptions for sex over bad drum beats and call it a Rap Song. It's too bad, if more Rap incorporated different Timbres and more intelligent lyrics, it could be amazing, very few rappers really capture much of anything with their music.

Different types of music express different things, it's just that some do it better.

  • ok well sorry not all rap is bad but that what you can see on mtv is just crap most of it is not real music

  • my rap is the shizzle

  • Yeah.I agree with you honestly. Rap is just underground music. Hardly just a few rap artist can do some proper music in my opinion. They want just easy money and they dont want to train their music any longer. Of course sex is selling but try to make music with no sex and sell it well that I would call great music skills! Cheers all! It is summer =)!

  • i agree...lots of rap today makes no sense at all, but there are a few that really are great

  • I love this piece.

  • not my most favourite bit, not dramatic enough

  • how's my video for drama,he composed the music
