  • Things sure do change. Much different than my 101st.

  • wenn ich könnte bin ich bei der 101 airborne

  • Please remember Capt Blake Russell's family. During his second tour he gave the ultimate sacrifice. He was in charge of one of the 101st Striker Groups. He loved what he did.

  • @Stinehaus His sacrifice will be remembered. As a fellow paratrooper, I will not forget the sacrifice of my brothers. God bless Captain Blake Russell. I will pray for his family.

  • Copy that Big Bird.

  • HELL YEAH !!! Thats RIGHT!!! 506-RCT

  • AIR ASSAULT!!!

  • my brother was in the 101st.he was also one of the first soilders to go to iraq

  • YEAAAAAAA!!!!! GOOD SINCE WW1!

  • I appreciate your zeal, but the 101st was born for D-Day, Normandy, WW2. They didn't have planes big enough for airborne infantry in WW1.

  • woops srry

  • You are thinking of the 82nd Airborne originally the 82nd Infantry division the "All American Division".Until World War 2 broke out. Then they were changed to the 82nd Airborne. Also know as the "All Americans"

    "All Americans" "Screaming Eagles"

    HOOAH!

  • I would just like to say thank you to all of our troops. My brother is in the 1-101st in Afghanistan. He has already done two tours in Iraq. He has gave so much for our country. All of you are in my prayers and god will protect you and you all will come home.

  • Great video. I hope to be enlisting within the next year.

  • BR1 is based at Fort Riley, KS., and I've been to both. The 101st has a much more brotherly attitude, and is, to me, a unit that will look out for its own better...

  • my papa served in the 101st and wants me to join, but i wanted to be in the big red one.I cant wait to enlist cause im still in RATC.GO 101st!

  • Glad to see the good that our troops are doing over there. It's good to see, because it shuts up the media showing only the few bad things and nothing good! Be Safe! USMC 3 years!

  • wow, i think this is just like Special Ops real brotherhood!

    Think? I mean it is!

nice to see that here in this video! i've enjoyed it!:)

    Greatz

  • hey boy´s it se nice video of se 101st AIRBONE

i´m support of se AIRBRNE and us army liebe grüße andi

  • anyone here artillery ? bravo bulls back in 90-91 for desert storm.. pop guns 105mm

  • 101st r cool way.

  • Well the U.S. Army basically killed the 101st when they did that...nobody wants to be a part of the 101st anymore, no matter what history they have.

  • i was in the 101st..i i was proud to be with them last year for my 3 years with them..i wish i could go back! Lots of people see my right shoulder patch and were like" damn you miss 101st too!" we are and always will be a Proud division!

SOME GAVE ALL & PAINTED FACES....The last 2 are a tribute to the last unit I served with in the Nam.

E Co (Long Range Patrol) 20th Inf (A) & C Co (Ranger) 75th Inf (A) First Field Force Vietnam.

    AATW

    RLTW

    Brasso

  • Iraq 03 widowmaker....Hardcore fox3 (observer 502 inf) charlie co?

  • 101st are primarily air assault now, not air drop.

  • yay, cool vid

  • God Bless my Lovin Contry, and his great ARMY!

    Protect USA!

P.S Old Abe is proud of all my brothers

  • We Rule. Those who have served know. Rakkasans!!!

  • Good one for Iraq- Maybe I should trry one for Afghanistan

  • If you can make one, go for it. I would love to see a similar one for Afghanistan.

  • GOD BLESS THE 101ST!!

Remember the Battered Bastards of Bastogne!

  • And, yes, the 506(Easy Company) and Major Winters were very busy guys during WW2. They were later stood down as a brigade, but just about 2-3 years ago, it was re-activated when the 101 went back to four full brigades. Easy Company rides again!

  • Major General William Lee made that statement as part of his address to the 101st (HOOAH!!)just before their drop into Normandy. This was their first battle jump, and their first deployment ever as a unit. The 101 was formed specifically for that engagement, and so had no history prior to Normandy, but they, truly, had a RENDEVOUS WITH DESTINY!! So, ever since, the SCREAMING EAGLE motto, and the words they live by, are "Rendevous with Destiny!" God love them and protect them ALL.

  • at the start it says the 101 has no history , cleary it does easy company in ww2??

  • how can u get in the 101

  • You just get the unit or reenlist for it. Really nothing big. Just to warn you though- just because you GET the 101st doesn't mean you'll be doing stuff like the video. That looks like OIF I.

  • THANK YOU SGTFCAMP67

  • They are STILL honorable men AND women!!

  • Hooah!

  • I am the guy helping the little boy push the car at the gas station, first attempts to win hearts and minds, seem's like a million years ago

  • Thank You for your service. What the politicians are doing in no way detracts from the sacrifices our people are making to do a job they believe in. You are ALL heroes, and the protesters and left-wingers can all go to hell.

  • My grandfather was in the 101st during World War 2. I would do anything to hear his stories, but he died from smoking in 85

  • 1-O-1 screaming eagle, pick up your ropes and follow me, Air Assualt INFANTRY! HOOAH!

  • I love the US Airborne. Great vid

  • I aspire to be a Screaming Eagle!

  • Go 101st!!!

  • I'm glad to see this video on YouTube. My son was in the 22MPAD out of Ft Bragg and was responsible for producing this video. The 22nd was assigned to the 101st in Mosul for about 11 months. They helped get Mosul television back on the air along with Iraqi Freedom News publications. The memorial at the end was added by the 101st when they were back in the states.

  • my family and i are proud of men like your son.

  • Screaming Eagles!!!

  • Im in the fusiliers (British Army Infantry Regiment) and i served along side the 101st at the start of Op telic (Invastion into Iraq in 03) and just wanted to say what a gleamin set of blokes they are! Although why exactly they dropped into Basra airbase when we already had it sorted is beyond me!!! either way if i was american id be gettin my arse into the 101st

  • I've talked to some of those 'blokes' who dropped into Basra, and they were wondering the same thing. All I can figure is that that great oxymoron 'Military Intelligence' was doing it's thing...

  • the only thing i can imagine it was , is something to do with a 60th aniversary of when they were first brought together in 1943?? i may be wrong but ...?? im back off for my third tour of that place, ive been there more times than i have on holiday on the last 5 years

  • You said Basra, so I thought you meant Iraq. They did do a 60th anniversary jump, but it was at Normandy. (Major Winters was there, 506 Easy Co., but he didn't jump because he'd lost a leg due to diabetes [I think]). I think I heard from some of them while I was at Campbell that some of the deployed G.I.s did an anniversary jump, too. Of course, it would have had to been in their AO. Thanks for your service.

  • is this 101 airborne of 502

  • Nooooo.... the five-oh-deuce is part of the 101st. 502 being a brigade, and the 101st being a DIVISION!!

  • Awesome video. God Bless All our Men and Women that serve our great country. Nobody can ever thank you enough. My father was in the 101 airborne also. Again thank you so much for the work you do!!!!!!! Come home safe..........

  • They are 'borne' to the LZ by 'air', be it by helicopter or plane. It makes no difference if they get to the ground by hard landing, rappelling, or under a shroud, they were still 'airborne' to the LZ... Why is there all this discussion over such trivialities?

  • 101st is air assault now but as long as theyre still trained parachutists it will remain the 101st Airborne

  • This is a great video. My boyfriend is in it. I didn't even know him when this was made. He showed it to me after I met him. Anyone who is in the military is awesome. Thanks for everything you do.

  • circa 2003

  • We will never shed our AIRBORNE tab; is part of our heritage and our history.

    CURRAHEE - 3/506TH PIR

  • the reason the 101st still has the airborne tab is tradition bro. ww2 remember that little shindig the 101st kicked ass and took names!!!GO AIRBORNE!!!!!RANGERS LEAD THE WAY.B 1/75RANGERS

  • Why the fuck this "airborne" moniker remains is beyond me.

  • Nice video...Shows the good things. Not just the bad

  • Nice video...

  • 101st Airborne for life. Once a Screaming Eagle, always a Screaming Eagle. C 1/320th FA TOP GUNS. AIR ASSAULT!!!!

  • after getting out of the pit at ground zero . i tried to inlist with a airbourne mos only to find out i was four years to old . im still pissed about it to this day. but i know a guy whos in his 80s who fought in d day with the 101st .he went to reinlist after 9-11 at his age asking to do anything they needed .guys like this is what makes the UNITED STATES so strong GOD BLESS ARE TROOPS AND THE 101 FDNY 9-11-01 NEVER FORGET

  • This is not Q&A on the music or anything else. If you can't figure it out by watching the vid, OH WELL!!

    No1Wanderer

  • Screamin' Eagles, Fuckin A.

  • Thanks for sharing. I am glad we have youtube to share info about our armed services.

  • what possibly could have a more profound affect on our world or your own than serving in the U.S Armed Forces

  • One thing that may have a more positive affect on the individual contemplating joining the army would be to jump right into college right after HS. Rarely do employers look any more favorably on veterans than the general public when choosing candidates for employment in positions that require a higher than average salary. Sad but true.

  • well it depends, if you wanna have a government job, or policj or one of the federal agencies, then military service is looked highly upon. same for if your a heli pilot and wanna design helis, but suppose you wanna be a lawyer, or a ceo type job it wont help.

  • I first saw this in 2004, and IMHO it's the single best video made about the war.

  • this is one of the best videos i've ever seen on youtube

  • great video .. I got the same one first hand as I was there when it was made. And I'll I gotta say is F**k Gen Pa tra us, he did the 101st wrong. Sorry for the negitavity, but it had to be said

  • How did he do you wrong?

  • brother i feel your pain america army is wonderful just one dick in the croawd fuck it up for the rest

  • I was in the 101st and now thanks to sgt green the 101st is known for the rape and murder of a 14 year old girl

  • o thought the 10st airborne was cancled after WWII

  • Oh no the 101st is still going strong. My brother is part of the 101st currently deployed to Iraq.

  • no it was just the companys like EZ and things, they were kicking ass in all the wars really had it rough in viet-nam also.

  • U will need to call ur local us embassy and apply for a green card. if u are thinkin of joining the armed forces first get in contact with a recruter

  • Nice vid, really gives me a view of what the Americans are doing in Iraq.

Does anyone know it's possible for foreigners to join the US Forces ? I would love to be a part of it, one day.

    Thanks, in advance.

  • yes my friend you can join the military in america and it is the quickest way to become a citizen and get your greencard....god bless

  • Will...does that change who they are? DOes that change what they do? no, there still soldiers, protectors of freedom and of america. Go check up ur history and books instead of making dumb comments.

  • Great Video and Thank you No1Wanderer !!

will27804 what are you writing TO&E tables now? or maybe i missed 4 stars on your epaulettes and you have authority to decide which Divisions are Airborne and which are not? Jeez get a break Private Major ...

  • 82nd all american, americas honor gaurd all the way my brothers joining the 82nd hes an MP as of now but hes goin to Ft Bragg for airborne then hes gonna do ranger

  • Well you certainly have me at 27 years. I've only been in since 92. lol. Oh yeah, sorry if my posts aren't as prompt as yours. My platoon had to help move a lazy Specialist's households to storage today or I would have answered you earlier.

  • The 101st is no longer an Airborne division; it is an Air Assault Division, which means transportation is covered by helicopters only. The 82nd Airborne is the only Airborne division left.

  • USA!

  • all the way babe

  • great vid man!

  • AMERICAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!

  • The Airborn division is drop in the middle of hell. What a brace task the aiborn division has live up to since world war 2

  • GOD BLESS OUR FAMILY THERE! See what they have done for us and our kids future. Why in the h#$@ are we letting this Iran monster in our country?SEND HIM HOME!!! Paper or plastic?

  • God Loves the 101st, and sent General Petraus to uphold that standard. I will never forget that guidons call from Eagle 6. It was on my 10th anniversary of active duty in the Army when we crossed the berm. God Bless Y'all! Good Luck, and May the Force be with You (Rakkasans!!!!) Amen

    Dutch Armed Infantry !! Hoehaaa!

As final touch god created the Dutch!

  • iliked the artillery too bad it wasnt the howitzer shoot then it would seriously pack a punch

  • that was really beautiful. i've been considering going into the army, and if i go it'll be the 101st. my grandpa's regement, maybe my regement.

  • this vidio is power fall and tell a story it is the best one i have seen so far.

  • My uncle was in the 101st in Vietnam. Got a bronze star when a friendly soldier went crazy and pulled the pin on a grenade in a bunker. He through it out just as it exploded.

  • Saddly in the mid to late 70's they were turned into an Airassault Division and they took away there wings. Airassault school is basically a useless two week program that doesnt even teach you the essentials of SPIES and FRIES. However the 101st has such a distinguished history serving in combat as an Airborne unit that they kept the Airborne tab. Which today the standards of the 101st are still extremely high because they have a reputation to uphold.

  • they have some jump status soldiers and air assault school is 3 weeks not 2 and its not useless you learn rappell and fast rope insertion helo ops and lsing load ops all of which are used throughout th eairborne and air assault community

  • god bless

  • God bless 101st airborne ranger

  • My dad was a 101st airborne ranger back in vietnam, He was in 75th ranger INF companies cairbornes, He just pass away 2 weeks ago.

  • good video

  • how does Airborne compare to the infantry of the USMC

  • ????? what the hell do you mean? air borne is an identifier, not a MOS... just an extra school, nothing more....you can have a pac clerk thats airborne quallified but it doesnt change his job...

  • airborne is infantry.........parachuting infantry

  • hooah

  • airborne soldiers are the best in the world. british paras, american airborne,, gota love em!

  • AIR ASSAULT!

  • Thanks you to all men and women in uniforms. You guys walk into hell with resolve and courage to put out those extreme crazy bitches. Angels of God be with you in these danger days. Godspeed and come home soon.

  • great video...good luck guys! =)

  • ROCK ON TROOPS !!! thank you for your service..from: a proud american family! GOD BLESS OUR FIGHTING MEN & WOMEN.

(I know it's the home of the 82nd, hooahh!) Check out 'afganranger', who, it would seem, actually made it. WAY TO GO, AFGANRANGER!! HOOOAAHHHH!!!!
