    10-String Guitar Performance

  • he left the bottom extra stringsoff??

  • ha! Well, let's add some drones to that thing and tune those in thirds! We'll need a drill and a router. maybe a sawzall.

  • HA HA! Have we worked on guitars together before?

  • Tasty. Interesting sound without the other strings. Have you tried tuning the pairs in fifths for slide work. Seen it done. Sounds amazing.

    Great work this.

    Stay tuned.

  • interesting idea..I love changing things around...specially if it involves power tools! Thanks for the comment!

  • @ 0:33, it looks like there is only 10 strings on the guitar. 2 treble strings are missing. unless the bridge pins blend in.

  • You are correct Jonathan ~ I use only 10 strings because you actually get more sound out of it in this situation...a little more melody instead of the chorus sound of 2 like strings.

  • cool!!! I enjoyed that!!!

  • Damn it! Now I have no excuses! I have the same exact guitar that has been in my closet for 30 years. I just couldn't play worth a damn. I totally restored it last year and had a luthier re-set the neck and set it up. But I still can't play worth a damn. Until I saw your video, I could blame the guitar. Thanks alot! :) You're playing is great!

  • Thats awesome! There arent many of these guitars that I know of...this one is held together with particle board..It might have ruined the value...but it fixed it! Thanks for the nice comment, and I hope it inpires you to start playing!

  • Great stuff!

  • That's nuts, I wish I could play that well, that was incredible.

  • Open tunings can open up a lot of sounds

  • off the hook!!! I love it.

  • some cool shit

  • What model 12 string is this Guild? It has a great smaller body.

  • Its a E212..E I think anyways..its from around 1962.

  • Dude it's an F212-E ... did you sand the finish off?

  • Good eye..I used chemicals to take it off..sounds a LOT better. I used a belt sander on a new Gibson J-45 once though.

  • Yeah I tend notice that kind of stuff it also looks like you are only using 10 of the strings..I myself do the same thing but anyway radical performance you are defanitly one to watch for if you have a web site I'm there dude keep on go'in !
