Some of them have bad form on their bench press. They are letting their backs 'round' off the bench, taking stress there... instead of tightening the abs and pressing down into the bench. tsktsk
@whataboutredlorry There's supposed to be a slight round to your lower back bud. It puts little to no more stress than keeping it straight. By slightly rounding your back, you're actually forcing your chest to be more isolated. Rather than having your shoulders, lats, and triceps do the majority of the work.
Stretching pre-workout is actually more likely to get you hurt. Because it causes slight tears in the tendons and ligaments, as well as micro-tears in the muscles themselves.
@whataboutredlorry thats the technique for powerlifting mate you bend your back so all the weight if focused on your pectorals and shoulders, cant believe you're arrogant enough to think you know better than expert strength coaches!
@whataboutredlorry The back is supposed to be arched. It's not bad for the back as long as the glutes don't come of the seat. This in conjunction with retracted shoulders enables the pecs better and the whole body is activated. Ask any pro powerlifter.

weak bench presses for reps. 100kg??
iindepandance 4 months ago
@iindepandance yeah cause elite athletes are weak aye. and anyone can just bench 110 and get into the allblacks
qwertymac 4 months ago
@iindepandance
It's not just about how much you can bench. It's about how much control you have while you're lifting too.
A controlled 50kg lift is better than out of control 100kg ones.
ashfi1994 4 months ago
@ashfi1994 lol no. A out of controlled 100kg could easily control a 50, how does that make sense
