@hoppekepper Yeah I love Stian Aarstad. Best keyboardist/synthesizer effects ever with Dimmu Borgir. He wrote the best stuff. I stopped listening to them after he left. Now looking back on it I'm glad I did.

Another thing you have to realize about shagraths vocals is that this is 1990s recordings, not the best of quality, another thing, shagrath isnt 25 any more, age deffinately effects the voice.....that dosnt, however, make him any less of a bad ass.

i love these guys. they will always be amazing in my eyes. yea i def. prefer their old stuff but i think their new suff is sill amazing.i think the only way id stop liking them is if they became poppy and i dont think that will ever happen.

Look at all this comments, everybody complaining because the band changed this direct and crude style for a modern one. Yeah I think the same way. Enthrone Darkness changed my life man, and it's true that if you compare this performance with another of the same song with the new members, well... do it for yourselves :D

Thats true :) Vortex (if you are a Dimmu fan like your nick suggests, you have got to have heard him singing) is the clean vocalist / bass player of Dimmu. Rather, he was.Vortex sings all styles, including growling. Probably mostly operatic though (Dimmu, Borknagar, Arcturus, etc). As for growling, if one does it right, its no problem at all. Plenty of vocalists have only gotten better at it after 10+ years of growling (Amon Amarth is a prime example).
