there is a serpentin belt and yes it does. There is also a power steering pump belt way down under and a pain to get at. This video tells everything ya need to know. NO FOOLIN'
For all who follow this video you are on the right track. I replaced my water pump using these videos and it was a life saver for me.
After I finished the engine the timing seemed to be off when trying to start.
Tore it down and checked the timing marks and they were correct..
Then I ***VERY IMPORTANT*** unplugged the cam sensor on the drivers side of the head, tried to start again with no luck, plugged sensor back in and BINGO.

most newer cars you can't over tighten it... as tight as you can if you can tighten it with a 1/4 inch drive.

You've to check in a manual for your car, in my X20XEV engine it's 20NM, your's maybe different.
