I agree that this arangement is ordinary though in such mastrepieces as Walk Away, Just Friends, Softly as I Leave You, When You Say Goodbye, Till Then My Love etc, the arrangement of George Martin are as suppurb as Mat's velvety voice. Comparisons with Sinatra are odious as all comparisons are. Mat was not associated or promoted by the Rat Pack. He was not the movie star that Frank was, but in my opinion he more than bettered him as a singer.

this is an original italian song by Daniel Santacruz Ensemble. The Original title is "Soleado", Weird that it is considered a sort of Xmas anthem in USa and UK while in Italy it was intended as a summer hit

I agree, the backing is at the very least suspect. Matt's vocals are as good as ever though.

Matt's voice is one in a million & he should have had arrangements that did justice to it. The musical accompaniments were often ok, but it was always the voice you were there to hear. Frank Sinatra had the best company going musically and Matt should have, too. Sure, none of this stopped him becoming the legend that he is, just that the best deserves the best.
