when i went down to the police station the only cops there were the ones wo harrassed me so you could imagine how that went, i say that to now say this; its not only kids but americans perception and ignorance on a whole. The kids only mimic wha they are taught and see on tv, it does not excuse them but thats how it is when americans stop being so ignorant and discriminating on skin color and nationalilty then this shit would stop until then im hoping to move back home to my virgin islands
im also from the virgin islands and its not only kids...i been on a job hunt for two years now and not only do i get treated differently for my accent i also have less job oppurtunity, get harrased by the cops and all sorts of shit. i was only 17 (on my own)wen the police pulled me over bcuz i was in the white part of town....ironically enough i had my apartment there. they patted me down rough and in uncomfortable areas (female areas) and taunted me about where i was from.
