  • "My dear old friend Pascal, I still from time to time, come back to this performance because it is absolutely my favorite piece you do here. Bensusan will ALWAYS be my #1, but this tune, along with your beautiful touch and the expressive way you play it, brings me to near tears each and every time. • Hi Pascal,

Here I am again, posting a comment on this video for the third time.

It is a beautiful piece played very beautifully by a great guitarist.

Hope everything is well in your world, and I'm looking forward to your next video as always.

I am also reposting this song on my channel very soon - I am going to the capital of Denmark to buy a good microphone and some other equipment for a good recording quality. Hope you will give a comment and a reating at that time ;) Best regards, Sarah

  • I just posted a treat for you Pascal! :D

  • Ohh Yeah!!!!! pure genius, if you ask me...

But to have "some news" from you is as pleasant as this post of yours, my friend!

    Pascal

  • Hi Pascal

Loved this piece - beautifully played. I would love to learn it but am not very good picking things up by ear .. could you possibly send me the tabs

By the way, I have just read your You Tube bio .. I have also only recently picked up my guitar again from it's long exile under my bed. You Tube is so helpful, wish it had been around 20 years ago!!

  • Beautiful! And thank you soooo much for posting the tabs.

  • Magique!!!

    PAscal.

  • Hi Pascal,

I need some advising! Do you think that 'Rainy Window' sound good with a capo in 2nd fret? I have been thinking about posting a video where I play it with the capo there so it makes it a little bit different - but do you think it sounds bad?

    Cheers,

    Sarah

  • Heya Sarah,

Sorry I'm late replying: I was on a trip...

At the end of the day, in music, its what pleases YOUR ear that has to prime. If you like it with capo on second, go for it! And if you like it "as the composer intended", than its capo 5...

    Looking foreward hearing you!

    P.

  • Absolutely lovely.

    Thanks and all the best

    Denian

  • Fantastatic playing, very clean and epressive!!! 5 stars!

  • Absolutely beautiful. I'll say it again: You have the lightest, most expressive 'touch'. :)

  • Hi pascal I Wanted to choose a favourite of yours for my Chanel, spoilt for choice so I chose this. another 5 from me. bye for now

  • Beautiful song, and well played :)

  • Great music.

    Thank you.

    Greetings Angeline also from Holland.

  • yeah..nice...you have a nice touch

  • Alwyas peaceful hearing your interpretations, Pascal! Here we are, listening to your playing, drinking a cool beer in this summer day in Oslo, wating for James Taylor concert! That's right, the master is in town! And we are going there! JT is gonna performimng live tonight in Oslo Konsert hus! I can't wait! Nice video, Pascal. We thank you for the music you show! Regards from Norway!

  • I'm listening to this A LOT! Much better sound and playing than any other video here on youtube. I have deleted my video again, so that i can post a new one when i get a camera! Untill then I'll just keep listening to your beautiful playing.

  • Your sooo sweet, Sarah. Shame you deleted your version: It was wonderfull!

I'll be travelling now, so I will be away for a while and will upload something new when I am back. (some Bensusan stuff, probably!)

    Big kiss for you,

    Pascal

  • Thank you very much! But I will upload a new video for sure. Just with the correct ending and all - and it was a kind of dark when I recorded the old one - so the next one will (hopefully) be better. Oh, and then I'm soon getting a new guitar! ;)

Have a nice journey. I'll be looking forward to seeing your new videos. I love Pierre Bensusan.

    Cheers,

    Sarah

  • well i'm blowin away by you

    Pascal

  • Man i wish i knew how to play this.. other than that good job!! how many years were u playing?

  • well, I played a lot when I was younger, stopped for about 17 years and picked it up again last year or so....long story....

  • Beautiful song and an interpretation that does it justice. You have a wonderful playing style. Very well done.

  • well thank you!

  • ;-))

  • Beautiful! It's amazing to me that you are self-taught. It wouldn't surprise me to know you've studied with the masters! Thank you for sharing!

    cheers

  • yup, self taught... but hours of listening, and now with youtube you can watch ALL the masters close-up....

thank you so much for your comment, realy encouraging.

    Pascal

  • Cher Pascal,

Tu a certainement raté cela ;)

    Bien a toi,

    Pascal.

  • very lovely, touching playing. have been looking through your videos for about an hour now and you truly have a beautiful gentle technique, lovely tone n dynamics n nice choice of chhoooon. thanx for posting your vids, has put a cheery start on what will be a hard day :)

Awesome playing, this is probably the one I'll learn after completing "Juhyo no Kagayaki" :)

    Beautiful!!

    Jens

  • Thanks man. This is indeed a very nice tune to play: you'll love it!

    Keep pickin' ;)

    Pascal

  • There appear a great number of excellent composers and arrangers for the guitar from Japan these days. We are lucky you found your guitar. You play with a professional level of skill and expression. You should record an album. Thanks for sharing your music.

  • Well thank you. Indeed, an avalange of phenomenal player in Asia... Thanks for your kind words. I am working on some own material. so keep posted ;-)

  • Sweeeeeet! Beautiful piece and very well played! Thanks for posting.

  • Absolutely beautiful. *****/*****

  • As good a touch and interpretation of a song as there can be ... absolutely fabulous ...

    Don ...

  • I humbly bow, altough when I listen to myself, I only hear mistakes ;-(

    But your comment touched me.

    Pascal

  • Great choice of music played by a Master guitarist. Very refreshing, to listen to your guitaring.. it's hard to believe you stopped for 16 years. 5* performance

  • indeed...now that I play again -activly- I still have a hard time believing I didnt play for so long, or how I managed, for that matter...But better late than never.

    Thanks for your stars, appreciated!

  • So beautiful and relaxing! What great songs Masaaki Kishibe writes, and you are a master at playing them. I hope to be able to play even half as well as you someday! Bravo!

  • Yes, he wrote 5 albums, and believe me, its hard to find a tune that is not out of this world. Just like Tommy Emmanuel, but a different style all together.

  • Pascal you are right. This is beautifull too. And great relaxed playing. No wonder why you have so many fans. Regards George.

  • Well thank, George!

But on youtube there are loads of musicians that deserves more attention than me: you for one!!

    Pascal

  • Hey!! You play very nice!! I like your gentle relax playing!! Such great! Thanks! I will look at your other videos!

    Sarah :-)

  • Heya Sarah,

Well I hope you'll like them....!

    HAve funn,

    Pascal

  • Please don't stop!

Beautiful tune and wonderful playing, Pascal!

    Bonjour,

    Julie

  • Dear Julie,

I wil not stop...for sure. I have 5 CD's from Masaaki and, believe me: its packed with jewels like this.

If only I could live several lifes at the same time...!

    Big kiss for you, Julie.

  • Pascal.. that was BEAUTIFUL!! SO NICE!!

  • Many thanks. Appreciated.

  • Beautiful tune, played exquisitely.

    Hurry up and get touring!!

    Regards,

    Paul

  • Thanks! I get nervous only by pushing that "record" button..let alone playing in public! My ony public for the last years has been my wife, kids...and my two goldfishes'.

Now there is YouTube...so I can appreciate YOUR gorgeous playing, my friend!

  • lol i can tell how much you enjoy the song when you play. this is played perfectly, very well done!

  • Thanks, yes, playing this is a real pleasure. To feel the wood of the guitar resonate on my belly...oh boy, i love it! ;-)

  • Thanks for this so beautiful music that becomes magic in your playing.. thanks brother:.

    eric

  • Merci Eric.

Your Beatle covers are one of the very best!

    Pascal

  • This is absolutely beautiful! - and you and your guitar are amazing!

    Respect, Maria

  • comming from an accomplished player as you are, I feel blessed. So thank you Maria!

  • Love your music Pascal. A great tune with flawless playing. Thank you!

  • Looking foreward to another Bensusan interpretation of you, the last one was a real pleasure!!

  • Hi Pascal !

I understand you ! Please don´t stop to share this beautiful music. You touched my heart !

    Thanks,

    wolfgang

  • If I touched your hart, me being "Cupdion" I did my job ;-))

P.S. I just posted a tune from a compatriot's of yours: a Pietro Nobile's tune. If you have a minute to kill, check it out¿

    'Bless you Wolfgang!

    Your friend, Pascal.

  • a very charming composition and played with technical perfection as all your music. I envy you for your wonderful playing! I think you get much appreciation for your videos here.

I'm alway be taken with the wonderful sound of your guitar - 5* - sure!!

    Robert

  • ..and a charming comment! Indeed, some nice feedback. Especially people telling me they will check out Masaaki's work now.

As for my sound: I love my guitar, it sounds as a fresh pollished crystal. Also, the software I use (MusikMaker07) is phenomenal..and cheap (60€'s!)

Thanks for your contunious support, Robert, and hey: I look foreward to your next one !!

  • Another masterful performance Pascal excellent work... a beautiful song too I have not heard of this guy before I shall have to check him out! Thanks for sharing this...

  • yes, Masaaki is worthwhile to be checked out. unfortunatly, his webpage is merely in Japanese...he realy should do something about that. On his site, I've been clicking with my mouse on nearly everything, to send a mail to him...no avail! So meanwhile, enjoy my post ;-))

  • hi Pascal :) thanks for your mail, this song is beautiful! thanks for sharing this moment with us..in case this is possible i would love to have the tabs...you have my mail, i would appreciate in case you could send it to me :) i am improving :) you take care my friend, hugs to you and your family! cheers, Mira

  • Another 5* performance, Pascal. Tell me, how do you manage to orient yourself in all these strange tunings? You have a real gift for that.

    Tom

  • Thanks, Tom. Well to the detriment of sounding silly: I just read the tabs! ;)

But I will add this: I am very familiar to DADGAD, in which I improvise a lot. So when "improvising" in DADF#AD, some funny stuff does happen. A real challenge, believe me!

    Take care, Tom.

    P

  • That was truly beautiful DADGAD?

  • DADF#AD.

    glad you liked it!

Please have a look at my latest Pietro Nobile vid, knowing you, I know you'll like it..well, at least I hope!

  • Wonderful al all. Gracias

  • WOW!!!!...as always 5***** my friend.

it's a pitty that you live so far away! i would come over to your house , so you could give me lessons every day ;-)

  • I'll send you my private Jet to come and get ya ! ;)

  • 10?? querio 11 por lo menos ;-) yaya

  • i love your style!

always with you & ur friends YouTube.

    lonlonjp

  • Yes, Youtube makes the world so much smaller... from my living room all the way to Japan in less than a second! Going to Japan is a big dream for me now. Just would love to visit Japan.

    Take care!!

    Pascal.

  • You are welcome to Shanghai too!!!

But you will have to bring your guitar ;-))

    Btw, really nice playing

    Ciao!

  • Don't thank us for watching, thank you for playing so well. Don't worry about you mistakes it sounds like gold to the rest of us.

    Cheers,

  • I'll take notice!

He avanzado bastante! Quesapa no descanza, mientras tenga una mano sana. Mi señora no se queja! Jajajaja!!

  • cuidatè, vale?

  • A lovely piece and played with great feeling, well done Pascal! I like the mood lighting in the background ;) I agree with your statement "I only hear where I've made mistakes" - we are our own worst critics.

  • Hi Jaw!

Actually, the mood lighting was there by accident (gets the bad smell of tabaco off;-)

but it makes it a "Lucky shot" I supose..

looking foreward to your next post!

    Pascal

  • Thanks Pascal...my next post is going to be a while away, I put the Maton back in the case and "re-discovered nylon" again. I've only got an old banger nylon which is no good for recording, and the new guitar I've lined up is about 2 months to arrive from Asia...

You know they say tobacco is bad for you ;)

Good to chat, keep up the good work :)

  • Excellent as usual! i don't know masaaki, but these notes remember me pierre bensusan's music.

    Five stars!

  • Bensusan was Masaaki's main influance. The first time Masaaki heard Bensusan play, he said : "I saw the light...!" Tells a big story.

    Thanks for the stars!!

  • also me whwn i saw last year Pierre i thought...i saw the light!
