  • Awesome! you do some great interpretations, I just commented on your Im the Walrus video.

I hope you don't mind me saying, when you do covers of songs I feel like the baseline is overpowering the main melody. You know what I mean?

  • Thank you. The band needs thicker bottom. I don't think it is overpowering since it represent both Paul and Ringo.

  • @peacejoytown

Actually, my bad. Its perfect, i guess its just a first impression I got from the song.

  • I like the muddy middle too. It gives warm analog-like sound. It is very difficult to transcribe though.

  • Thank you!

  • Great tune. You nailed it. Always love your stuff.

I can't see how anyone who listens to this music could suggest changing your wrist or anything else. Just keep doing what you're doing.

  • Thank you. It is good for me to have something to work on.

  • i dont know the song (A)

    But it sounds amazing =]

Love listingen to youre songs =]

Good keep =P and hope you can continue posting new vids =]

    Greetz

  • Thank you. This is the ending song of side-A of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album.

  • Nice work once again.

I wouild love to hear you play something like Freddie Mercury's "You Take My Breath Away"

  • Thank you. Although I'm not sure if I know the song you mentioned, I have some Queen songs in my wish-to-play list.

  • Amazing work! You are the best guitarist I've seen here around! I always have a good time while watching your videos. Thank you.

  • Thank you! Good to hear that.

  • Fantastic rendition, Hiroshi! Great, great, and once more great arrangement!

  • Thank you Filippo!

  • Nice job on a song that doesn't feel that it would translate well to guitar! I had just heard this song on the radio, so serendipity is at play here.

I too noticed your wrist angle seemed steep, I had thought that was difficult on the write in the long run. But you play so beautifully, how could it be wrong?

  • Thank you. That is my biggest question too. I think I started to play as my fingers to be in right angle and never paid attention to the angle of wrist. If I live another hundred years, I might start to fix it, but that won't be the case. I will just pay more attention to it and adjust it gradually.

  • That is interesting - I find myself doing the opposite, very little wrist angle. I never paid much attention either until I saw most people on YouTube generally tilted their wrist a lot more than me.

  • I think wrist with little angle looks more natural. I used play jumbo guitar (Guild F-50) and I really had to reach out to be in a position and maybe that could be one of cause for my angle.

  • Wow, great! Nice arrangement, well played :)

    Keep it up!

  • Thank you!

  • great job man.........this one sounds like it took a bit to get

    sweet

    BR

  • Thank you. It is a bit tricky but not that really hard one to play.

  • Most certainly excellent! I hope to reach your level some day.

  • Thank you. Hoping is where I started and standing now.

  • Sounds great -- hope this one makes it onto your next album!

  • Thank you. Actually, I recorded this for the last album but I had to leave it out.

  • この曲好きになった....ha...ha...

  • ありがとうございます。

  • Nice one Hiro, new guitar is sounding nice too! Good work standing up especially, I find that hard to do when playing fingerstyle.

I also just noticed that you bend your wrist on quite a steep angle like I do. It's probably not good for us long term. I think it happens because in the old days when we played classical on the left leg pointing the guitar to the sky, the finger position was natural - now that we are playing flat, we have to bend the wrist in to get the same angle of attack...

  • Thank you. I know about the angle of my wrist. I'm working on it but I have been playing this way for nearly forty years, and I wonder if this could be okay for me. I never had a real classical training and never had paid atention to this until I started seeing myself in YouTube.

  • I see you are getting a lot of comments about the wrist. I've been playing similarly for thirty years so you are right - it doesn't seem to be a problem. I try to correct it, but it doesn't feel right.

The only problem I have is that I only feel comfortable playing below the soundhole close to the bridge, which makes the sound a bit twangy. I see you get around that by having your arm resting more forward than me. Your shorter arms maybe? ;)

Anyway, your stuff is great as always,

    JAW

  • I was focussed on "correcting" my wrist angle as I was certain you two were good models to follow! (You both play great!)

It seems nail shape is related. With normal looking longish nails I would always get my nail "snagged" if I had a straightish wrist (esp. an arpegiated chord by picking with 3 fingers). So I was fixing that by trying to bend my wrist.

A little experimentation that if I shape my nails asymettrically (and short) then I can hold my wrist straighter and have no problems.

  • I think it comes down to what feels best - if it doesn't hurt and it helps you play better, then it must be good! ;)

My nails tend to go a bit asymetrical after a while, they actually wear (due to playing) on the left hand side when looking at the back of your right hand (strange eh?)

  • Hi Hiroshi,

good work my friend - nice arrangement.

Greetings from Lemgo (that's where a lot of your fans live!)

    Hansel

  • Thank you Hansel.

  • Excellent Hiroshi. I wonder how come you used cutaway instead of your usual classical guitar. I noticed that you were all in 1st position.

  • Thank you. There are a few reasons. I need to get used to with this guitar for future in-store demonstration, and it is much easier to record with built-in pickup and microphone.

  • Beautiful!! Really makes me smile!

  • Thank you, Good to hear that!

  • One of my favorite Beatles song played by you! Awesome!

  • Thank you!

  • i don't understand how you move your fingers so fast...

great great rendition :) 5* favorited.

  • Thank you. I really don't know how myself either. They move according how each song goes.

  • Awesome as usual, peacejoy! Can I make a request? I'd love to see you create a lesson and teach us how to develop the playing skills to play like you do. You could take a song you already did on here and break it down for us. I'd love to see that. Learning by tab is one thing, but technique is another. Technique can't be taught through tab.

  • Thank you. Well, if I know any technique in my playing, I'd be happy to show, but all I see from my videos are bad points that need to be fixed.

  • Fantastic! Excellent work yet again!

  • Thank you!

  • omg you rock :)

  • Thank you. (^^)

  • Another 5 star. absolutely awesome.

  • Thank you for stars.

  • Really wonderful playing! Thank you.

  • Thank you!

  • Great arrangement and playing again!

  • Thank you!

  • wow...great job !!!

  • Thank you.

  • Outstanding

  • Thank you.

  • wow, great!

    especially the part at 1:24

  • Thank you. That's where Henry the horse dances waltz.

  • Good job

  • Thank you.

  • hey, another great job on a beatles song. you should check out free as a bird, i think you would make that sound amazing, and its another great beatles song. Again though, congrats on the great playing

  • Thank you. That song isn't in my memory yet.

  • Hi Hiroshi,

whenever you grab into the full loaded Beatles songbox and put out another tune I am amazed being reminded to th elate sixties/early seventies.

Again well done my friend and a pleasure to listen. 5* +

    Cheers from Lemgo/Germany

    Bernd

  • Thank you Bernd. I once did a gig of all side-A songs of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Club Hearts band in medley same as in the original record. And this was the ending song. I know this isn't really a famous one but I like the arrangement that starts with Bbm in Intro and Cm in A section.

  • You seem to have an arrangement of every Beatles song, except for "Let it be"!

You really should make an arrangement of the song.

(Oh, and I love this arrangement by the way.)

  • Thank you. I do have an arrangement of "Let It Be" but it is my favorite Beatles song, I want it to be best. I just know many of their songs.

  • very nice

  • Thank you.

  • haha i was just listening to this song. great choice

  • Thank you.

  • Oh wow!! Nicely done!

  • Thank you!
