This is a real find for me. Tomorrow night (Christmas Eve), I plan to watch and listen again. My grandparents on my Dad's side, Harold and Theoline, sailed from Christiania (renamed Oslo) in the late 1800's. My Dad was born in Illinois in the early 1900's. He is now in heaven. I'm so glad on Christmas Eve that I will see him and the rest of the family because we accepted the wonderful work of Savior Jesus born into the world for us.

My family sings this in both versions every Christmas! I don't speak Norwegian but we also eat Lutefisk every year too.

Jeg elsker sangen. Mange tak skal du har, og glad Jul alle! Fra din venner i Amerika.
