Alan was so incredibly gracious and stayed outside with us until everybody's playbills were signed. He smiled quite a bit and even chatted a bit with people who were brave enough to speak to him. I was not one of those people, lol. I think I managed "hi" and "thank you" when he signed my playbill. Just being in his presence was awesome. I'm going back for his final weekend in the play. Cannot wait to see it again!!
Did the interview take place when AR was sick? I think he was not feeling well! And why always talked about Daniel Radcliffe at the end of interviews?
@vivianpasta I think it's taken him a very long time to get over the pneumonia he had, and he didn't really get any time off except one day. Sometimes you can still hear it in his voice but he sounds better now, I think. Yeah, I'm getting a little tired of hearing about Dan Rad too! 9_9 I think he likes to feel that he's made a difference for young people - as he doesn't have kids of his own it's probably a special feeling, for him.
I thought he was very gracious to fans outside after the play. I was there 2 times and he signed everyone's playbills and I was thrilled he talked to me. He is a very unassuming person and seems to be a little shy. I thought he was fabulous in the play and fabulous in real life. I was so impressed I'm flying back there for the last performance of the play.
I met him after "Seminar" the other day and he was very nice. I don't think he is really discourteous to his fans at all, I think he's just quiet, and some people take it the wrong way. He was very sweet, I thought. Definitely an amazing presence to be in, and yes I was shaking like a leaf, but he was very nice.
@earthday1984TB Oops got carried away there LOL. I can't even..!! I really don't know what state I will be in... well, video/photos may be to follow unless it really doesn't go well..! :D Actually there are actors who "don't do" stage door so I guess we can't complain too much. Blame it on the autograph sellers who ruin it for the real fans. :P
@MsSardonicus LOL! Good luck! I almost didn't get his autograph because he was walking away to leave and I (politely as I could) called out "Mr. Rickman?" and he turned and came right back. He didn't have to, but he did, and I will always appreciate that. He's my very favorite actor, and it was great to see him in person.
He was very nice at Seminar, signed for everybody and there were a lot of people there. He didn't take individual photos, but, I can see that if all wanted a photo with him he would be there all night, LOL. And he had pneumonia on top of it all!
Please, could you tape this interview as a text - because it's a really fantastic interview and Alan is really a wizard - a man of wisdom. I would be very thankful if anybody tape it - English isn't my native - that's why only...thanks A LOT!!!
@SaiChenresi Hi, ohh sorry I dont' have time to transcribe the whole thing. If you have ? about a specific thing he says I'm sure I or someone can help.
@MsSardonicus I need just the dialoge...and yes - I have time but my mind doesn't embrace every word he says((( unfortunately. But these are really important things about how to be the great teacher: He says truth etc...well ok...)) then there remains just one to do - i will repeat every phrase he says and probably once I'll realise every sound )))
@MsSardonicus And actually the second reason why i need help in transcribing - it's because I listen to his voice more than to the words he says )) his voice is a kind of music for me and you understand - in such situation there is too difficult to force the attention to the speach meaning. ))
I couldn´t understand this American Interviewer when he was about to quoting Radcliffe of what he was saying about Rickmans guidance... " Acting is a worthy/witty... " or WHAT does he says...? - Any native around to make this point clear to a not English mother tongued, please?
@MsSardonicus Is this really true? I wrote to him just before he started the run of 'Seminar' & asked him if there was any chance of the play ever coming to London's West End, or the UK in general (with him starring still of course!) He didn't reply (I wasn't asking/expecting him to) but I'm interested to hear you're now saying this ...
@sevvy253 Yes it is true but I haven't heard any further details. I am going next month to see the play so if we don't know yet I will hopefully(!) ask him personally. :D Well...if I have the power of speech at all that is...
@MsSardonicus Well, I wish you luck with that! I know what you mean by 'if you have the power of speech' ... I saw him in the play 'John Gabriel Borkman', in Dublin the October before last, & was determined to get his autograph/speak to him afterwards but I completely lost my nerve in the end! IMHO he can sometimes be a little aloof & (seemingly) rather discourteous to his fans - not to mention rather intimidating - I simply couldn't face him with the thought of any of that! :-)
Ok, I might bore you but again, my heartfelt Thank you! xxx

@NicholsFan Lucky that you can watch him acting in the play! I'm in Taiwan and have school everyday. I can only see photos and videos taken by fans!
