Not only would the chain come loose, when your using a flail, you're just as likely to hit your target as yourself. They need skill and practice to use effectively, and even then, most warriors chose not to use this weapon, despite its advantages. The constuction was a little flimsy, but its just fine if you aren't going to be swinging it too much.

i did something like this when i was ten, and yes, it is extremely dangerous. the loop peg can and does come out sooner or later, especialy if you are swinging it violently or are hiting things. also since a "chain mace" uses more velocity then strength even a small person or kid could hurt or kill someone with it when it comes free. when mine poped out it hit the wall next to a window. if it had hit the window my parents would have become the most dangrous thing in the house, lmao

You're construction design of that thing is extremely dangerous. No offense. You simply used a loop peg to fasten the chain onto the stick. God forbid, if that loop peg pulls out, which it absolutely will if you swing hard, you can kill yourself.

its a good overall design but has 1 flaw the pole should be at leas twice as long as the chain and end to ensure that the wielder dose not get his hand spiked crushed ect ect but i made it with that change and it is now one of the most deadly weapons that i poses because of its awesome blugeoning force and by the way it is called a flail
