I particularly like this trap because once the trap is set off, the animal is incapacitated from movement, which is unlikely for some animals to escape from the snare trap and is also in the air. Also, if you could have the measurements longer, it could work as a killing trap. If your two arcs are stationed closer to the ground, there is less movement for the animal to flip up and smash its neck/head and body against the two arcs. Making the arcs longer will give more room for a stronger blow.
@aseglkj All my traps are just for examples. You can adjust your traps as you want to. The second arche makes the trap stable, more steady, solid, firm. Thank you for the comment.
@aseglkj The second arch also creates a choke point the critter could become trapped against or asphyxiated under tension (I saw from watching a pathfinder vid on a similar snare, I'm no expert..)
Cool trap, but wish we could see detail on the trigger...can you type us what was going on there? Just the trigger itself...looks like a vertical rod that the sapling pulls up on, but what is holding that vertical trigger in place? Is it notched somehow to the horizontal piece?
@quartz5577 The horizontal stick keep in place the vertical one. You don't need to carv nothches on them, the sapling is powerfull enough to keep the trap in palce. Thank you for the comment.
@quartz5577 It's a standard toggle trigger. The long stick keeps the toggle in place until it is depressed at which point the toggle is released from the frame and the trap is tripped.
This is a cool trap that I have used in the past. The name of the trap is incorrect though. This is actually called a Polynesian arch snare. Good vids bro keep it up.
great trap!!, perfect along a regular walkthrough bunny trail, and beautiful place to make them too, i hope to do more of these when i get some time and i will also do natural traps as they are more pleasing to make :)
Good but the limb that was attached to the noose was way to loose. It's the snap that kills the bunny or whatever you catch.

How did you make this you completely missed out on explaining that

Interesting trap, but why do you need two arches? From what I see, one arch would be enough.
