The song that was in 2 of the Curse Of The Manchesters stories. It was in the first story and in the episode after the pirate ship sinking episode. It was the song that reunited the 2 main charactors even after the death of one. This song either signals an impending death. Or a unitification.
Just watched Dear Heart on TCM for the first time in years (actually decades). Fell in love with it (and Glenn Ford) all over again. Was mistaken tho, thought Jack Jones sang the theme song, but he didn't. Didn't catch credits, think it was the Henry Mancini singers. Sounded great, but like Jack better.
@airkooled05 Haven't thought of this song or movie in years - you're right great love story with the late great Glenn Ford (and Geraldine Page), and of course Jack Jones singing the theme song.
A TERRIFIC song for one to sing!!! It sounds hard, but it isn't. Just takes a bit of voice control is ALL. No range is needed...........consider this all who want to do a solo, male or female!!!!
I even liked this song and film when I was a kid back in the 60's . a great song and a wonderful love story . Very simple but beautiful with the late great Glenn Ford
What a wonderful singer - he was in the early 60's....as he remains today. His voice was so lilting and beautiful - it easily brings tears to my eyes. I have one of his Christmas Albums and it is the first one I play once Thanksgiving rolls around - and the last one I hear after the New Year has come. Mr. Jones - quite simply - you are a true artist and may you continue to sing for years to come.
Jack Jones had such a great voice. I really enjoy this song. It reminds me of my dear Mom and Dad. It played a lot on the radio station they listened to when I was a young lad.
Another song in the Unitification episode was Jim Nabors Christmas Eve In My Hometown. Between these 2 songs it was a triple hanky episode indeed.

@catman916 You're right. I guess that's why I misremembered (is that a word?) him singing in the film. Thanks for posting!

@jcapuani While Jack's version was not used in the film, it did receive much airplay on the radio.

Another 45 my parents had! I remember that the reverse side had a song by the name of 'Emily', but I didn't like it as much as 'Dear Heart'.

Wonderful song that I've loved since I was very young. I find it bittersweet, though.
