  • I really like this song with Ms. Barnes singing. I wish this type of music was on the radio again. Thanks for posting it.

  • The "other" Cut Glass at the time went under the name Mildred Vaney - she had left Quiet Elegance (check them out!) - to form Cut Glass - she later changed her name to Mildred (Millie) Scott when she recorded in the mid 80's for 4th & Broadway - what a treat to see this video!...a Saint top 5 classic which no doubt will be played this coming weekend at the Trippin' Party - a night of Saint Classics

  • why cant they bring music out like this

  • this takes me back.thanks for the ride back ian.coming out days

  • Total gay disco. Forgot about this one and I am considered my most to be a disco encyclopedia. They played this on Warren Gluck tapes at the Talk of the Town in White Plains, NY ~1982. Funny how songs sound much better when you rehash the old memories.

  • The one and only real version of these wonderfull song is sing by these woman!!!!

  • This is The Best music ever made

  • Gawdd,, does this song bring memories,

  • Love Ortheia Barnes. I use to go to her nightclub in Detroit.

  • What nightclub? I did not know she is from Detroit also

  • She sounds better than ever as does Millie as evidenced at their Ole School Reunion at Arturo's beginning of November/07 with more coming up. As Iyanla VanZant said in October, "here's a sister that can sing the paint off the walls." And it is so true!! Her friend of 30+ yrs...Laima

  • quote.... "WOW!!!, thats MY grandma...come on everybody lets dance."(from Ellyssa 3.5yrs)

  • I love her "non Diana Ross" divaness

  • Yes.....definitely a "floorfiller"

  • Great to see the face behind the voice. Love her expressions !!

  • "Without Your Love" is definitely my absolute very, very #1 favorite song. I never realized until just a few days ago that this version existed. It gives me goosebumps as does the other version.

Listen to Bobby Vitteriti's remix.....just genius!!

  • A five star video. Better than the original. She is amazing, watch it almost daily.

  • How about the flip side - Alive with love

    That would be great!!!!!

  • excellent! excellent! excellent!!!!

    thanks!

  • Class ;)

cant believe I used to have to beg Ian Levine to Play it at HEAVEN - well the Cut Glass version - So thanks for this - GREAT STUFF

    Martyn Butler ;)

  • This is the same lead singer. I bet you NEVER thought you'd ever get to see a video of this, did you ???

  • Excellent remake, better than the original. She is incredible. I watch it almost every day. Thanks so much for posting it. Love it!!

  • great song!!!! either version!!!

  • Congratulations, Ian. This is better than the original! Ortheia's vocal is more soulful on this one, and her voice has matured gorgeously. And it's so nice to see her singing!

I read on one Web site, that she has become an evangelical minister. I hope that doesn't mean she thinks we're all going to Hell..

Anyway, too bad you didn't do "Alive with Love," too. It always was a bit more soulful than the relatively hi-energy "Without Your Love."

    Thanks.

  • I did actually cut "Alive With Love" with Detroit legend Pat Lewis.

  • Can't get enough from Cut Glass/Ortheia Barnes! Another sleepless night! Damn, it's GOOD! Lucky me, I got 2 copies on vinyl!

  • wasnt Ortheia Barnes the origianl lead singer?

did she do any other songs?

  • Cut Glass had two lead singers - Ortheia Barnes and Mildred Scott.

Ortheia had singles on Mickays and Coral in the 1960s, and recorded for Motorcity in the 1980s, and also recorded for Sylvia Moy a lot.

  • yes she song also ALIVE with Love.... great song also

  • excellent!!!!!!!

  • Great remake!

I still love Paul Parker version, very hot!!!!!

  • I rather with cutglas all the time.. Hello from mexico city... : )

  • This song, was recorded by Paul Parker too.
