Seph with soul edge love it, but i agree he should talk during them. Square has got in the habit of making wonderful but long winded cut scenes. FF6 did not have long cut scenes and it is arguably one of the best in the series with an interactive dynamic story for the time.

Auto-battle doesn't make the game easy. The complaints came from people who never got past the beginning of the game in which auto battle was the easiest way to win. And even if you use auto-battle the whole game, that doesn't mean you can win. The strategy is in proper use of the Paradigm System.

To all Final Fantasy 13 fans, I have an epic spoiler, I am sure you all will find this out eventually but it's better to hear about it sooner than when it's too late. 13-2 only has Serah and Noel as the main playable characters, for the WHOLE game. Yes, shocking, but the idiots at Square didn't bring back the old cast as playable party members, so it's just those two v.v I was extremely dissapoint when I found this out, and as such, will not be buying it since lightning >>>> Serah, by a thousand

Im a huge final fantasy fan, but honestly when I played this part of the game I just trolled at everything. I could not take it seriously, it was cool but it was like a movie. Thought it was horrible at first but I think it's pretty fun so far i'm at the second part of the game so far.

My only problem with this is that you make sound as if auto-battle is instant-win-mode. It's not. If you were to just spam auto-battle, you wouldn't get much of anywhere. The real strategy comes from Paradigm Shifts. :O

@Tyloric the trouble is that early on you can win like that, and contrary to what most people would wish- initial impressions are very important. If for 2 hours of game play combat seems like mashing X you can deter players from continuing.

@Fietsbelization when you play the game in my opinion after finishing it caius kind of get the feeling that the writers where trying to surpass the sephiroth shadow that clouds all games where a villain that not is sephiroth is discounted as bad villains when they are not and do have all there charms in my view anyway, the key difference between the two is that Caius'es key motivation is despair as opposed to hatred

the final fantasy 10 combat system is so well liked because u can take ur time and a clever player can make it so ur enemy doesnt get a turn in the battle i personally prefer the atb gauge system and agree with ur idea of the auto battle ive only used on second play throughs just to rush leveling through specific areas of the game

People seem to be complaining alot about the auto-battle option. As far as I know this system was existent on FFXII by which it was known as gambit. Actually I liked it, I don't have FFXIII, but judging by the last final fantasy game I played, FFXII, I think it was a brillant idea. You could switch off gambits as well but it made things easier for you because you wouldn't have to control all your party members.
