I like this, espacially because I'm German. The smurfs' theme song is quite new. In the original German intro of the smurfs there was the same video and no song but a narrator telling something about them. Also Gargamel spoke in the part from 0:22 on. Replacing that by such a stupid song makes no sense!

It's actually a quite good list, what most of my fellowmen and -women don't seem to get, but the translation (as what you hear from it) is not as good as for example the "uncut" DuckTales version. Even with some phantasy I cannot hear what you're hearing. ;)

Perhaps the worry was IMMITATION there. Dull versions of bladed melee weapons are sold to children all the time, and the chance of hurting themselves is very small. With nunchucks, they're on ropes, so the risk of someone hitting themselves with them is higher. Just a theory though, and the whole censor thing was lame.

I looked on wikipedia, and can't find an answer. Apparently they eventually just gave Michaelangelo a grappling hook instead of nunchucks. I also found it hilarious that they removed the word ninja because it only had violent connotations. So i the song they changed "Splinter taught them to be ninja teens" to "Splinter taught them to be fighting teens". Because "fighting" doesn't have exclusively violent connotations.

These songs are sung so badly to begin with that, even as a German native speaker, I can hear the "buffalaxation" almost as well as if I didn't know German at all. That works in your favour here (contrary to Buffalax' German works where I can't switch off my understanding of what's really being sung).
