  • Lovely! - I stayed in Pisa - in the old town, for 5 days. It is recommended:)

  • Your narration is excellent. I am very interested in Pisa and will be working there in IT for a while. However I do like open spaces where is the nearest highest green area do you thing?

  • @ynottonyh hi. I live in Pisa so I may be helpful. Go to 'Giardino Scotto' for a beautiful green area :)

  • I hired a bike in Florence and put it on the train when I went to Pisa. About a 10 min bike ride from the station to the Field of Miracles.

  • there is just a lot of chinese in pisa :D

  • amazing video of my city

    greetings from Pisa

but you missed the spina's church, san Matteo national museum, the Cittadella tower and the monumental cemetery...

    maybe next time :-)

  • amazing video of my city

    greetings from Pisa

  • great video, unfortunately you missed some nice spots of Pisa like Spina church, the monumental cemetery, some museums et cetera.

Did you know that there are other 2 leaning bell towers in Pisa?

I hope you can visit Pisa again, actually the town is getting cleaner , street are rebuilded, there is a huge plan for the ex city hospital redevelopment(great historical buildings), you will see the city really improving every year until at least 2015

  • This is an excellent video with a very professional commentary. The only criticism that I would make is that your mention of "a mile" and "50 yards" spolit it all. I was surprised that such an intelligent person as you could eb so old-fashiooned using these archaic measurements. You should always say " one and a half kilometres" and "50 metres". That way, people won't laugh at you.

  • What did you use to film this?

  • @akerbie Hi, thanks for your nice comments. I shot this with a Sony HDV FX7 camcorder, very good quality. It does weigh about 5 pounds and costs $3000 but is worth the effort. This was shot during the summer. Notice there is much more to Pisa than just the tower. Walking through the Old Town is wonderful yet 99% of the visitors miss that.

  • @denniscallan Thanks for the info. The video really makes you want to go there. Never been to Italy, but maybe one day.

  • @denniscallan $3000? Troppo caro per me! But I had fun with my $200 Nikon P1.

  • @denniscallan Nice job! I live in the Old Town :) So true that many tourists miss it... Everyone thinks that Pisa is just the Tower and there's nothing else to it.

  • This channel is a real asset to YouTube.

  • Brilliant video. Very informative and educational. Very filmed with excellent editing. Excellent editing! Highly professional. Video is great from start to finish. I could watch videos like this on Television. I have seen a few of the Italian vids so far. What time of year was this footage shot?

  • Thank You Dennis!!!!!!!!!!

  • Spent a lot of time in Pisa about a decade ago. This video brought back many memories. Thanks for sharing.

  • Really enjoyed this informative video and seeing/sharing the sights of Pisa with you.
