Thing is John DIDNT want Marlena like that, it was a rewritten once they turned Kristen evil, when she was NOT anywhere near like that to get people to want J/M back together. It was a crock, Eileen knew it, so she left the show, and it hasnt had HALF the sucess it used too.
they've now changed the story and this is actually andre dimera not tony.
